I am a casual reader, check this page at least twice a week. Not a premium subscriber to any of the sites so all of my information usually comes from this site. I am a Mississippi College graduate and currently in Grad school studying Biology. This semester to earn some extra money I am teaching at two alternative education schools in Jackson. New Summit and The Education center. I teach twoscience/chemestry classes at the Ed center and one class at the New Summit school that is on-line. I have heard some stories of how Ole Miss recruits were sent to these schools to replace high school grades and earn extra credits needed for SEC and other requirements. The NCAA has officially asked for records of classes and also payment for classes. I know for a fact that multiple athletes took over two courses in a summer session at the Ed Center. Which is in itself illegal by state law. No more then two classes can be taken in a summer session. This has been going on for three years a staff member told me. The first year it was 2 or 3. Then went to6 the second year and this past year was 5. Of course I won't give names butI can say the ones I was told are on the active roster.
As for the payment issue I have no knowledge of how this is being handled nor have I asked about it. I do know that three of the students from last year alone were from out of state. As for living situation and transportation I have no Idea but I am sure that will be asked about. The entire situation stinks and is starting to make its way around the school. The owners and administration can not afford to have this linger around and in no way has the resources to deal with the NCAA. If an investigator steps foot in the school things will get interesting quickly.</p>
