I'm gonna be in the student section and want to make a sign for the MSU Auburn Game. What is a good sign to make that will go with the letters ESPN? The N obviously should be Newton. I figured this is the place to come for good ideas.

Is it solely because he had the audacity to not sign with MSU?

game, where he was ready to commit and was ringing a bell, only to choose Auburn. Of course his dad is the one who took the cash and Cam is just the unlucky beneficiary of our wrath.

his father. And they can Kiss my ***. I hope we beat the ever living **** out of them and break both of Newtons legs in the process. If we lose a player straight up in recruiting thats fine but when $$$$$$$$ is involved and we are not the highest bidder it gets me pissed.

"It's all in the game."

I'm also surprised at how easily so many people want Cam Newton to face serious injury when Bruiser was raked over the coals for the exact same thing.

For the record, I think it's childish and stupid in both cases.

Bruiser was happy AFTER Elliott actually got hurt.

Not that wanting someone to get hurt is much better.

It would be interesting to see the posts IF Newton actually did get hurt.

and keep asking why we are so pissed at Newton. I guess we need a tacked thread at the top of the board that all rebels can read on why we are pissed at Newton. There was a combination of several things that pissed us off. Much of it had to do with his dumbass poppa running off at the mouth. Now why don't you explain to me why Archie received death threats from rebel fans after Peyton committed to UT.

I can answer that and most things regarding people's actions when it comes to SEC recruiting in one sentence: People are stupid.

Don't just throw out a ridiculous accusation and not back it up. I have a hard time believing Chizik paid anyone but his assistants. An expendable bagman? Maybe. But that's not what you said.

Because you had the audacity to go to Ole Miss and you have the audacity to poke and pry on a State board.

just go with this:

"I Would Rather Be a Rented MULEat<font style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #ffff00">MISSISSIPPI STATE,</font>than a JACKA$$ at AUBURN"</p>

I know that everyone here assumed he was theirs, and then he signed with Auburn. I didn't know if it was simply sour grapes that he didn't sign or if there was more to it. It's not like, as you pointed out earlier, State fans would be the first fans in SEC history to wish injury or harm on a player because he had dared not sign with their school.

And when I said "the audacity", I meant that from the perspective of the fanbase, as fans of all schools often think it is unfathomable that somebody wouldn't want to play for their team.

This board sure has turned cunty lately.

the sole reason you asked this question was to get the board fired up. All while hiding behind some veil of "If it happened to Ole Miss, I wouldn't care...". That's ********. Give up the charade. Just say, "Ya'll are stupid, the mfer didn't like MSU, he wanted to go to Auburn. Instead you take the passive aggressive route.

Ah, so you expect there to be honor among thieves, or something like that.

You say it is a business(bidding for his abilities), yet you are emotional about the outcome? Its a business, right? He made a business decision then. Why be pissed about that?

Did you know the guy chose Auburn over State at the last minute? Yes.
Did you know that Mullen was his ex-coach? Yes.
Did you know that most MSU fans thought he was ours? Yes.

As much as you're on this board, you know exactly how it went down. Why do you insist that you don't?

I had always heard from some football players that before the Alabama game in 06 that Croom basically put a hit out on Jimmy Johns. Supposedly he personally challenged the team to "De-Cleat that MFer". Sure enough De'Mon Glanton took care of it. Anyone else ever hear this?

Does anyone think that Mullen holds any grudge like this a has put the target on Newton? I know Diaz doesn't give a **** who it is at qb he's bringing the heat so.... We will see soon enough.

He was as good as y'all and then he wasn't.

That's all I know, which is why I asked.

None of the above questions that you asked explain why multiple posters on this board want Newton to be seriously injured.

Robert Elliot singing Dixie at the State-Ole Miss game and cheering for Ole Miss in Oxford. Everything is pointing to him signing and then he signs with Auburn who came into the picture out of nowhere. Then Robert Elliot's papa talks about Ole Miss and how much they suck.

That's why people don't like him. I think it has more to do with his dad's comments than him actually signing with Auburn. I hope he is blowing some snot bubbles (copyright Fred Smoot) a week from Thursday.

Do I want him injured? Of course not. Do I want McPhee and Cox to pound him painfully into the turf every play he's out there. Hell yes. It's football, he signed up for it, and he's on the other team. Plus, he spurned us for them at the last minute, so I'd like to beat his *** twice as bad. That's really all there is to it.

Oh yeah, and he rang a cowbell at the Egg Bowl.

There's your history lesson. It doesn't matter, because we are Mississippi State, and the guys that spurn us for the big boys enjoy making us their ***** more times than not.

but if it is true, that's a rare moment of awesomness from Croom.

Does Mullen have a grudge against Newton? Who knows? I would think that he would have more of a grudge against the Dad. Maybe have a grudge against Chizek to- I mean, we're recruiting the guy, and doing a great job, and then all of a sudden Chizek- who is really not that great of a coach gets him because someone pays off the guys Dad. It's funny how he had no idea how to recruit at Iowa State and now all of a sudden he has it figured out at Auburn.
