First shutout since the 2017 season opener

Geez, I really thought we had one under Leach. It's crazy that we've only had four shutout wins in the 21st century. Thus ends what was tied for the third longest shutout drought in school history.

If I remember correctly, that 2017 shutout was against an FCS team that ran the triple option and our loaded DL just ate them alive.

Tonight I kinda felt bad for Alcorn… Don’t get me wrong, we are definitely improved from last year… But that is probably the one of the worst teams in the SWAC, which is probably the worst conference in the FCS. I am not sure there is a team in the SEC they could have hung within 50 of.

We did what we were supposed to do to them. That’s all you can ask. They even cut the quarters shot in the second half.

Yep. Not much to take away from the game other than if you are a decent SEC team, you throttle that team, and we did.
