Why do teams like USA keep playing the "big" boys ... meaning us and NC State? Are they doing like Troy did a few years ago, playing the tough teams to try to break into the big leagues, so to speak? Seems like they're just asking for a trouncing and that must be demoralizing to their players and fans after a while.

How else do you expect to compete in D1 in Alabama? Take the money and sell the fact that "hey, we're not that good... But in week 3 you get to play against a 1st round db at NCSU and in week 4 you get to face another one and a team that is currently top 25. You could go to DSU and win a national title, or you can come here and play against future NFLers"... Not dumb at all.

They're in it for the money...plain and simple....in other words at this stage of the "game" they're smart.

Joey Jones is their head corch. I remember him being a scrappy little receiver for Alabama in the late '70's and early '80's.

Easy. Bammer isn't always gonna be on top (remember the Dubose-Shula years?), plus every once in a while a 1-* or 2-* develops into an all-American.
