The only reason that I could see them taking him is because it is a safe choice and move on quickly. Other than that it would be a bad choice.

The safe and quick choice make easily win out here. They have a recruiting class to salvage.

That bring up a question though - would Cutcliffe take it, if offered? He's old and not in the greatest health. I could see him being content with his current situation.

His name will natrually pop up because he earned some respect as a head coach with the improvement of our team in year 1 and the national media will assume that he can't be happy in Starkville.

***Gruden, Cutcliffe, Muschamp, and I am willing to bet Tony Dungy got a courtesy call.***

I've got an old, arthritic chocolate lab that still manages to get off her bed every morning when I toss her a biscuit.

Because Mullen's name is going to be mentioned for a lot of jobs over the next few years. At least I hope it will be for a few years.

I do keep hearing Muschamp's name over and over, so I would assume they really are after him. I doubt they get him though, and every other name at this point is probably just guessing at best.

One of the guesses will likely turn out to be right, but if I had my guess the hiring announcement will come out of nowhere sometime later this week, and there will be very little mention of interviews, contacting, or anything of that nature. It'll just happen, and we won't hear much about the actual process other than internet conjecture.

In other words, if they were to hire Mullen, or even Nutt, we probably won't hear much about it in terms of contacts or interviews until the annoucement. Just my guess, but I expect it to happen quickly and with little warning.
