I hope he does well. He tried and seemed to be a good teammate. Lacked confidence.
In the right scenario, I think he can be a very productive player. I wish him nothing but the best.

i can see him returning to the RAC in a OOC game and dropping 6 3s against us.........in a losing effort!
Good luck to Justin. I think too many people on our site criticized him. He did make 5 of 7 three's in a stretch near the end of the season. I thought in time he might have been a bigger contributor. I felt he tried too hard and lost some confidence but thought he would become much better in the future. I wish him nothing but the best moving forward. He hardly ever turned the ball over and passed quite well.
The strange thing is, if, he was more aggressive he may have hit 6 in a game last year.

Okay...I'll wait and see what happens. If it happens I would be curious to know if it's Pikiell sitting down with guys and "suggesting" they would be better of elsewhere or guys leaving on their own ? We'll never know.

Justin scored 66 points as a freshman and played over 14 minutes a game. Soffer played much less at RU and I think he scored much less than Justin. There have been many RU players who scored no where near 66 points in their first year at RU. Greg Lewis was just one example so who knows if Justin would have done considerably better if he stayed. I still believe he is a very good shooter. Hopefully he can find a school where he can do much better.
You're absolutely right. If I recall correctly , EJ or one of his assistants were down to watch someone other than Goode play , liked what they saw in him , and offered him then and there. If true , now we see the end result of that hasty offer.
A couple of years ago I met Tyson Wheeler, one of the Fairfield Asst Coaches on the rental car bus at LaGuardia. Recognizing him from his playing days for URI at the RAC we had a good conversation about CBB and recruiting.
He said that on a number of occasions they have recruited players that looked talented in HS and had other good college offers but when they got on campus the coaches immediately realized that they could not play at the MAAC level. That's a tough spot for a school when they have made a scholarship commitment to a new player. Apparently it happens more often than one might suspect.
Remember the SHU Guard from Toms River that transferred to Fairfield ? I believe that his name was Sean Grennan. He was expected to be a starter at Fairfield but ended up leaving the team during the season in his 2nd season. I saw him play a few times and he could not keep up with the MAAC guards he played against.
Turns out he has surfaced as a graduate transfer on the West Coast now playing for the San Francisco Dons.

Goode played with one-time RU commit Kejuan Johnson at Hargrave Academy. KJohnson was later released from his NLI-- anyone know what he is doing now?
