Who’s been, or will be, ramping their fishing up during all this crap? I cleaned my kayak reels up today and will be going tomorrow or monday, depending on wind I may boating. Anyone been having any luck?

Been 3 times this past week. Which accounts for all 3 trips in March. I’ll be fishing weekly until work gets back on a normal schedule.

I live on Lake Caroline in Madison Co. Ms. Finally got thru fixing multiple electrical issues on my bass boat. Went yesterday morning and hung several 6-8lb class bass. Then went back out and took grandkids bream fishing. Caught 12 rather large bream plus a dozen or so throw backs. I was somewhat shocked how big and fat the bream were. Hopefully tomorrow going looking for crappie!

Can't wait for you to apply your recent imaginary sports efforts into some good fishing stories.

Ha, I’m bank fishing over-fished county-run lakes in the Houston suburbs. If I pull a bass out of these little lakes that weighs more than 2 lbs, I’m ecstatic.

I've been 3 times this week with my kids. Good chance I'll go again tomorrow. Caught a few catfish and a couple of perch. Enough to have a fish fry the other night. Weather has been great although Friday it was a little too windy.

Lowdog: i live about 1 mile from you in Saddlebrook. You think it would be okay if I brought my 8yo son over there and we fished from the bank? Would the Lake Caroline security guards run me off?

In North Mississippi there is just too much water and the weather hasn't really cooperated.

Just did a little scouting yesterday. The water is warm but the pinfish and finger mullet haven’t shown up yet. You can pull a random trout or red off of the grass beds before that happens but it may be another week or two before they show up consistently.

I’ve had a tough time with the perch this year.

On a side note, the Live Scope computer and the people who are all of a sudden becoming Bill Dance.....congrats. I’m jelly.

Goonbaws who’ve never strung a jig pole are now all up in my grits.....catching my fish

Caught a cobia, couple triple tail, couple sheepshead, and a pompano in Florida during spring break. Killed a turkey the day after I got back. And had 3 solid white perch outings since. It’s been fun.

Gonna wet a hook off the bank this afternoon. Guaranteed to catch “a piece of mind” if nothing else.

Lake Caroline also has some of the best tasting catfish on the planet. I fish with a friend that lives there and we will our freezers with them.

Agree some the best tasting catfish that aren’t farm raised. I met the guy that has a permit to commercial fish Lake Caroline. He told me last year that he was averaging 600-800 pounds a week out of the the lake. His work has paid off because the catfish I’ve been catching late last year and this year are much smaller in size. The lake has a real over population of catfish!

Been kayak fishing a few times and fishing roadside off the Trace pretty much every day before work. This has been the best March I can remember. Fished Calling Panther twice, caught a bunch including a 24.5 inch 7.84lb tank. The P’Bay side of the Rez is like a different fishery this year with the lack of vegetation. A few highlights from Central MS public water:

Never had a Hobie but looked at one fall of ‘18 when I ended up going with the Native Slayer Propel 13. The new Slayer Max will likely be my next but Im really liking this boat. The bike style pedals with instant reverse is awesome. Don’t see myself going to the mirage drive style for the lack of instant reverse. If I was 100% saltwater I might change that but for bass fishing with some marsh it hits all my needs perfectly.

Gotcha. Yeah I’m thinking about upgrading to to Mirage reverse fins. I plan on getting out more this spring for obvious reasons.

The new 360 is the best new innovation in the kayak industry imo but I’m not paying that for a kayak. That said, if I went Hobie it would be an Outback and not a PA 360 or not

I have a 16 Outback. I like the fact that I can handle it without a trailer. It’s a good combo for handling gulf swells, but I can throw it on top of the car real quick to do some inshore.

One thing I like about an outback is what I like about my slayer, you can still paddle it if you want to do a stream or somewhere you can’t use a drive (Calling Panther). You couldn’t pay me to paddle a PA or a Titan.

What is that 2nd fish? A grenal? I once caught a 10lb grenal fishing a spillway. Thing almost looks like a snakehead. Nice bass though bro!

Bowfin, choupique, mudfish, or grinnel. You got it. It was my first. He nailed a senko in a creek off the Trace. Interesting catch.

Got my teeth kicked in at Cat Island today. One keeper Spec. Two keeper red fish. Specs aren’t quiet on the grass beds yet from my experiments. Was a pretty day though. Felt like summer

Stayed on the Jourdan most of the day and didn’t cast a line. Idling back to the Diamondhead launch I saw plenty of action. Saw a decent amount on the river as well. Reds are there from what I saw and from what I’ve been told. School meetings tomorrow morning. Rain Tuesdayish. Depending on weather I’ll update this thread on Tue/Wed
