So... today I went:
225 x 3 bench
315 x 8 bench PR
335 x 3 bench PR
100 x 10 dumbbell flies
That makes the thought of cutting less appealing.
COTDAMN it slow down anth, can’t have you getting ahead of me.
Yesterday at a fire scenario training at the fire tower we had to force a metal door (on a forced door simulator) on the ground then go up the stairs to enter through said door to perform a search in full bunker gear on air. In the process of forcing the door with a halligan bar, I quickly got it most of the way open to a point where I should’ve flipped it and used better leverage than just the adz end and used the adz and the pick end to create a a 3 point leverage point. Well, I’m new and whatnot and my brain said touch that it’s taking too long (it wasn’t but time feels like it flies in those simulations), so I dropped the halligan and bull rushed the door from two steps away using my shoulder to lay hell on that machine, blew the door wide open and almost knocked the whole thing over. Whatever, it was open so we proceeded into the building, executing the search and finished the exercise.
Reviewing afterwards with the chief training officer, reminded us all the “ideal” way to finish forcing the door for most people would be to do as mentioned and create a 3 point leverage, but if you can just bash the goddamn thing in like Skattebo Stephens over here, be my guest. We don’t really give a **** how it gets open just that it’s open.
So it appears I have earned the nickname Skattebo since everyone was referring to me later that day like that. Not sure if it’s a good thing to be known as a no brain bull rusher but hell it was kinda funny.
Looked it up and we are the same size, 5’11” #220
