I really hope that you are correct.

There seems to be a lot of positive narrative (maybe spin) recently about an improved OL compared to 2025 from multiple media members plus the coaching staff. It is a challenge for me to think the OL will be significantly better this fall just based on personnel, but in Lebby's defense he told us post spring & preseason that the OL was not where it needed to be.

IF the OL is significantly better this fall, this team will win 7-8 games because I think the defense will be improved as a result of (1) Hutzler is gone & it can't be much worse & (2) I have to think Arnett will be at least competent with his scheme and he has produced good SEC defenses despite marginal talent levels in the past.

Through the years we've had some O-lines play above their heads when we had good on-the-field leadership on the line itself and at QB . I'm hopeful this team has that chemistry .

1. The offense will be better than the defense, including the o line.

2. The run attack with be in the upper half of the SEC

3. We will beat either ole miss or alabama

4. We get another receiver drafted

5. Lebby makes a bowl and stays.
I enjoy the occasional optimistic post on here. It's a nice change of pace.

1. It has been for years, I'm ready for the D to catch back up like the good ol' days. I think we take a huge step forward on D this year.
2. Hope so. KT being mobile will help this a lot.
3. It will be olemiss.
4. Yes.
5. I'll take it if we see improvement across the board.

1. The 2nd half of the sentence will determine the 1st
2. see #1
3. I think we have a decent shot at Bama at home if we win at Minnesota. If we start off bad the wheels could fall off quickly but inversely, we beat Minn and split USCr and Mizzou and I think Bama is in play
4. Who do you have in mind?
5. I would like for you to be correct but I don't see it. It's possible if everything goes just right but Lebby's tenure has been anything but everything going just right.

We are much more likely to beat Alabama. Assuming they are about like last year.

we aren't winning in Oxford unless they are greatly overhyped or become a dumpster fire.

I'm telling yall this defense is legit! If the offense is better, woah.

Also depth is much better than last year

No chance anyone is beating ole mess. They are a lock for an undefeated season and a spot in the natty. Banner already printed.
I know a lot of their fans and they have confirmed this. It is a lock and anyone not placing bets for their NC at this point is either insane or they don't know football. Trinidad has stated it is the standard at OM.

1. Apples and Oranges, how can you compare the two? I hope the offense includes the OL! Are you saying the offense will score more points than the defense gives up?
2. I agree, we have a good RB room. There will be some surprises.
3. Interesting since I believe Alabama will be better.
4. According to KT we have 2 receivers as fast or faster than Thomas. That is a luxury.
5. I agree

1. Our defense was #118 and #106 in the country over the last two seasons. This shouldn't be a difficult feat for an offensive wiz like Lebby

2. Seems plausible. We were #9 in the conference last year, and trading Shapen for KT should already be enough to push us over that hump

3. Lord, I hope you're right

4. Wouldn't bet against it. Lebby may have glaring holes at other positions, but he's proven that he can consistently produce receivers

5. Now this one depends. Does Lebby earn a bowl or is he gifted a bowl after winning 5 games and a dozen teams opt out? If its the latter, he's gotta go

Here's my hot take. SEC media days is outdated, boring, and a waste of time. They either need to completely revamp it or just do away with it

Media day is for the talking heads. They will study it and spit it out to you while you are watching games. They will especially key on the blue bloods to compose their SEC preseason preview show where we will get 1.5 minute of coverage. I never watch either.

If by "legit", you mean top 70, ok, I'll buy that. That would be about a 40 position improvement over last year. You should really temper your expectations beyond that.

I don't even think that is a hot take. Media Days hasn't been fun since Alabama was threatening to arrest Phat Phil if he showed up in Hoover.

Each school could be given a date/time for a damned Teams Meeting with the media or better yet go back to the ole SkyWriters tour where all the media visited each campus for the Media Days - the SEC Network would have content for a month & that could replace the boring take-over by each school for a day.

I dont have any expectations. I never do. I just know what I see with my own eyes & we've got some dudes that can play on D.

To be fair, a top 70 defense last year probably would have meant we would have won 8 games last year.
