1. Welcome back Dee Bost. 8-14 from the floor, 3-6 from three, 5-6 from the line, 5 rebounds, 4 assists. We've missed you.Only negatives are four turnovers and the missed front end in overtime.
2. Jalen provided some help. Our two guards have been killing us the last month. I don't expect five threes from Jalen every time out, but he has to make open shots like he did tonight.
3. We played the best defensive set we've played all year on the one where Goulborne hit the three from deep on the right wing. We got through screens, stopped penetration, cut off passing lanes.....Goulbourne just channeled the ghost of Shan Foster and hit the shot. Regardless, it was encouraging to see that.
4. We shot 21 free throws to 9 for Vandy. It seems like Vandy shoots 21 per half when we go up there. Huge impact on the game when they aren't getting easy points at the line. Vandy made more shots from the floor than us, more threes than us, but we won the game at the line. Unbelievable.
5. The backcut pass from Renardo to Dee was a thing of beauty. The skill it takes to make that pass is unreal. That was coming out of a timeout, meaning Rick could have chosen anyone to make that pass. You see who he picked. Great design and fantastic execution. I hope his ankle is OK.

I may not sleep all night. That was a great win.

He seems to be hurting it about everygame now. He does come back after hurting it though. Just hope it stays OK the rest of the year. He may need a lift in that shoe to keep it turned straight.

As if I knew anything.

I am glad he came back. If you could have heard my phone calls at half time compared to 15 min left in the 2nd half - you would think I was Goat with my bi-polarity.

I also thought it was interesting to see Stansbury go to Rodney Hood out of the timeout on the final play of regulation. I really liked that call, and I think we got the look/set we wanted. It shows a lot of confidence in Hood.

Yea we need him to be okay. Every dog cusses him when he is on the court and yell at him for his defense, but the man has been steadily improving across the season. Sidney has provided us instant offense when he is in the game and has even been playing some semblance of defense lately. That 3 he hit towards the end of the game was huge. We need him to play big time. If he doesn't play our offense will become a lot more stagnant. I know a ton of people will disagree because of how much hatred everyone has against Sid from last year, but he has found his spot on this team and is actually doing a decent job.<div>

Hood is the best pure shooter on the team andhe had him right around the FT line which is a really good mid range distance for him. He could have taken the shot or gone to the basket if he got around his guy. I thought it was who should have had the ball, and considering how often Dee touches the ball in game and how often it is his ball to win or lose it at the end, I think it saysa lot about how good Hood isthat Stansbury drew one up for him.

I agree with your post on everything except the difficulty of the Sidney pass on the backdoor cut. Sidney is an amazing passer for a big man, but that particular pass was easy. It was a result of two things. The first is Dee's man being over-aggressive in attempting to deny him the ball. The second thing that made it work was the set we were in. The opportunity for help wasn't there due it to being drawn away from the paint. That pass was simple and something that everyone is taught in junior high when the guy you want to pass to is being denied the ball. That is the textbook pass.
