Both are pretty bad match ups for us...im more concerned about this first game than i would be playing vandy on saturday

i guess im not really considering an at large bid just the best way to win 3...but i think we have a better chance of beating fl anyways</p>

If you think beating UF and Vandy gets us in, then that's the road you want to take. I'm leaning toward that not being enough. In that case, Auburn would be the easier win so I'd ratherplay them.

Our only win against AU was in overtime, and we've laid some big-time eggs against them (losses by 15 and 18 last year). I don't want to see them again.

and we needed a miracle to beat them at home.

I think we have a better shot at Florida, plus its a better RPI boost.

One thing that really hasn't been discussed is the possible semifinal game, I'm not entirely sure it will be Vandy. Georgia beat the **** out of Vandy this year and Vandy needed OT to win at Memorial.

The best scenario for us is Florida, then Vandy, because it gives us a chance without winning it. There has not been any small conference teams with an upset that would cost a bid. (St. Mary's over Gonzaga is close, but St. Mary's was probably in) and there are only one more chance (Utah State in the WAC, the mess in the Pac-10). If this holds, 2 wins might be enough to get us in. On a normal year, there are 4-6 of those, there have been 0 and there are only 2 chances.

I mean, let's see, would I rather play a low RPI team that would likely beat us AGAIN or play a higher RPI team that we match up much better against. I think I'll definitely take Florida. The ONLY upside to playing Auburn would mean that FL made an early exit in the tourney and would maybe give us a better chance of passing them up for a bid if we won a couple.

our RPI is 68! We're 1-4 against the top 50. Best case scenario that turns into 2-5. Maybe in fantasyland Ole Miss sneaks in there by beating UT and losing to UKand we're 4-5. We'd still have those 5 losses to 100+ RPI teams. We need more than 2 more good (not great) wins. I just can't see us getting any closer than right at the cut line and surely 2 or 3 bids are going to disappear during the tournaments, although admittedly I haven't been following that situation.

I will defer to better basketball minds about who we have a better chance of beating I guess, but I think at this point an at-large bid is a pipe dream. We had to beat UT.
