I bet there are people with season tickets who wouldn't come see a 3-4 team play Florida, but will because they will be able to say they saw Tim Tebow play in college. Kind of like saying that you saw Hershel Walker and Bo Jackson play.

there are more than just a few folks that were on the fence when it came to season tickets who looked at the schedule, saw Florida and Tebow coming and decided to buy.

Florida being #1 helps too. I had to make several phone calls to GIVE my tickets away to the Houston game. My Florida tickets had been "spoken for" before they were ever in the UPS truck. I really can't believe my work is preventing me from being at this game. Sucks.

has really changed. I would have never guessed a 3-4 State team, who has lost the last three home games, would sell out a home game. It does not matter who we were playing(with the exception of a Bama game in which their fans fill it up). The fan base has come a long ways since the 36K that watched us win the West in '98.

THAT is the difference. Obviously, there's a limit. We couldn't build a 150k seat stadium and expect to have it mostly full. But I think we're nowhere near our limit now.

I've been preaching "build it and they will come" for years now. Even in the Croom years when we had regular near-sellouts. You don't have to consistently sellout a place to build a bigger place and have more people show up than would have fit in the old place. We can clearly see that from the previous expansion.

Now....Let's renovate the West side and expand the North endzone. I think we should get that done within 3 years. And let's have a 10 year plan on expanding the South endzone.

There is no reason our stadium can't be as big or nice as say Auburn's. Their school is similar to our's. Yeah, its bigger but not buy leaps and bounds. They're also out in the middle of nowhere just like us - which I think is a more significant factor.

something croom never really gave us. Even in his best year, that opening 45-0 loss really stung.

It's so frustrating because the support is there--we just need the team to actually perform. Same thing with baseball--just look at our Super Regional attendance versus Clemson. That weekend was one of the best weekends that I've ever had as a bulldog. We're so starved for success it's nauseating.

I'm confident in Mullen, though. He seems capable.

Auburn has Columbus, Macon, and Atlanta (from GA). All within a couple of hours.

from Alabama, they have birmingham and montgomery. Not even including Florida.

We need to expand to about 60,000 plus if we continue to sellout. Then shoot for 70,000 to 75,000 in the next 5 - 10.

They would have to get rid of the old mini jumbotron, which wouldn't be a bad thing, then tear up all the parking spaces back there, and then figure out where to divert that road that currently goes back behind that side of the stadium. It would be tough with the buildings that are back on that side, but I think it could be done.

Barr Ave to expand the stadium. But I'm in favor of closing Barr to create another Junction-type green space. Click on the link below.. don't know why the image won't imbed.

However, if we did actually have $30M to spend, I think 15k seats would be a great size. After watching the Chargers give another home game away last night, I've decided that there's a lot of things I like about Qualcomm Stadium that I'd like to see replicated (and yes, I realize the San Diego Chargers have a little more money than us). They're stadium, however, only has about 71k seats (our 56k plus 15k expansion). The great part about it, however, as you can see in the picture below, is that their endzone seats basically wrap the endzone on 3 sides, and push right up to the back of it. If we could do something like that on the North endzone, put the students/band in there.....

I was looking at that thing at the Houston game, wondering how in the hell we ever survived having that as our only source of information during the game... and then I remembered there was a time (and it wasn't that long ago) when we had no video screen at all. It was just a field on that end. We've come a long way brother.

***On a related note, 'mini jumbotron' is now on my list of favorite oxymora, right next to jumbo shrimp, tight slacks, and -- wait for it -- rebel baseball.

Surely nobody has the audacity to bring up a German subject that's ever been posted or talked about before...

A quick list of things we've discussed in the past that we're discussing today (this should save you some trouble trying to find old posts):

- The opposing fans' thoughts about our game
- Mullen & Tebow's relationship
- Sluts
- Mullen & Urban's relationship
- Past MSU players
- Current MSU players
- Outlook for the remainder of the season
- Cam Newton
- Tailgating areas/setup

...ideas with regard to specific places such as Barr Avenue are like comparing apples and oranges because Xenomorph's Barr Avenue idea (a good one) has not been mentioned as frequently as the others.

Besides I wouldn't call it Germans because I don't think that one can call something Germans because the same person had made that same point previously.</p>
