eating a bunch of steaks at Barnhill's or something like that, and Jackie had to stop him. I can't remember how many it was, and the number was probably exagerrated anyway.

Wish he had done that with Dontae.

Also, I wish we had our 1998 offense with out 1999 defense and special teams.

I think that was at some beef-eating-contest between the State and Texas O-Lines before the Cotton Bowl.

Randy ate 8 16-oz. steaks at a Quincy's, at which point the coaches told him that he had to stop eating. I don't recall there being any sort of competition with Texas, just one large and hungry man.

The contest against Texas could absolutely be urban legend.

I think we're talking about two different stories--both with Randy destroying a bunch of cooked animals. In addition to running Quincy's out of business, he won some kind of eating contest against Texas leading up to the Cotton Bowl.

SEC Championship game. The student section was behind the away bench at that time if I remember right and they started throwing stuff from the stands down onto our bench. Mainly airplane size whiskey pocket shot bottles. Randy Thomas saw that I was covering my head with my jacket and came over and stood behind me and all I remember after that was him taunting the student section and blocking the bottle from hitting me. I'll never forget that one.

Ansu Sesay jawing back and forth during a basketball game while Sesay played for Ole Miss. It was hilarious.

Before the Cotton Bowl, we were hosted at Lawry's for what is known as the Beef Bowl. It was nice dinner of prime rib. It was never explained to us that it was a "contest" between us and Texas about who could eat the most. We never knew that until well after the fact. In fact, no one really said we could have second helpings.

Randy, linebacker Edward Yeats, OL Matt McRae and myself were sitting together and decided to have our own contest. We kept asking for more and more and Coach Sherrill came over to check on us. Everyone else had stopped on the first plate and we were still going. They loaded the entire team on the buses and left a bus for us. We kept on for a while until we were all seriously stuffed. We loaded the bus back to the hotel, just the four of us and Coach Sherrill, for the ride back to the hotel. I think everyone had to loosen a belt and maybea button or two. Randy ate 14, Matt ate 11 and Edward and myself stopped at 9. It was a great dinner, eating all of the prime rib that you want, and a great memory with Randy.</p>
