Story on nj.com.
Says he does not make decisions based on whether or not he is going
to hurt someones' feelings. He says he goes with the one he thinks gives
us the best chance to win.

or the best chance to win playing his vanilla, sorry I don't want to score any points gameplan hoping that the other team turns it over and has their worst performance of their lives

why risk winning with Rettig and Flood IS worried about hurting Lavianos feelings he said as much last week with the comment about putting Rettig in for a series would hurt Lavianos growth

Hope his feelings arent hurt when fans get on his case, and then he gets fired.

Doesnt he realize he isn't winning games? What worse can happen?

This could get ugly. No joke. Michigan's D - after playing 2 huge rivalry games in which they "struggled" a bit - is gonna be ready to "tee-off" on our O and this is NOT the solution.

Know this about what RU is up against in Ann Arbor:
Michigan State is the only visiting team to score more than 7 points in that stadium this year. They've pitched two shutouts and given up 7 points twice. We'll be lucky to score.

I thought I saw it all. I've seen Anderson follow really big wins with
some terrible losses against weak teams, same with Graber, same with
Shea. And Schiano with the Bufflonova, N.H. etc. But this is a low point for me.
Really I can,t believe what is happening, and being a fan of RU for close to
60 years I thought I've seen it all.

They do what they do, it's no secret what Rutgers does. Do I expect any thing different from them...no, I expect them to do what they always do...that's Rutgers.

That is a generic quote from any head coach we play against at their conference discussing what problems Rutgers presents

If Flood wants die on the hill that is Laviano then so be it. This may be the best for Rutgers football in the long term as it rids us of this hack of an o-line coach disguised as a head coach.

Laviano was 4/14 for 31 against Wisconsin. I predict those will be better than what he puts up in Ann Arbor.

He must not think to highly of Laviano. Like Nova his junior year, he is just feeding an unprepared player to the lions. Laviano's confidence is shot. He couldn't even hit simple swing passes.

6 points in two games. Why wouldn't you go all in on him at QB? It's what Flood does. He isn't stopping the stubborn stupidity now.

It is so hard to root for this team anymore! Flood has ruined this program. I am so sick of his garbage "best chance to win" going "1-0". Does he really believe this stuff that comes out of his mouth? Just fire this loser now. Give Norrie the reigns to finish the season. The team has given up and lost any hope with this coach. You saw it on the sidelines.

Flood is proving to be a real hard *** and getting a sense that he knows that this is the beginning of the end for him and wants to go out as his own man. How the f*ck do you start the same qb with such an anemic performance by the position and offense the last few games? As if Laviano is an experienced upper class man coming off a bowl season with a far distant backup who did not challenge for the starting position coming into the season.

Julie needs to be on the phone with the agents of all possible headcoaching candidates. The stadium will be an echo chamber upon getting blown out by Michigan and Flood announcing that Laviano gives us the best chance to be 1-0 against Nebraska.

RU needs to fire this guy and move the program forward.

Makes sense if we want to have our best chance to be 1-0 next week!

Every team here on out is just going to stack 8-9 men up front, eliminate the run and dare us to throw.

I think this is a good thing. At least now we know RU has no chance of winning. If Laviano gives them the best chance, then there is no chance. It's that simple.

"Chris will be our starting quarterback this week, and he'll be our starting quarterback because we feel like he gives us the best opportunity to be 1-0,"

What exactly in the past 2 weeks gives Flood that impression? I won't even talk about the previous weeks. What exactly did he see in film that he can make that statement?

I can tell you this. The Laviano's better have a big house because Kyle's going to be spending a lot of time on their couch when he gets kicked to the curb for being so loyal to their son.

Just like Clement, I bet Peppers scores at least 3 TD's against us. NJ kids love to rub it in.

Translation: "Our QB who is not winning games gives us almost no chance to win this game but I think that's the best we can do and I'm satisfied with that." He's not even trying very hard to win games at this point. Why is he still our coach???

Maybe he realizes Rettig might get killed against UM, so he sacrifices Laviano in a no-win game and then brings Rettig in for the last 3 games, which we win to go 6-6, saving Flood's job by getting us to a bowl and setting us up for 12-0 next year. Maybe, lol.

I know what you said was tongue in cheek..but seriously, no matter what happens in Michigan I believe Flood will consider the last three games winnable
and in no way start Rettig because he will feel this will Laviano a chance
to get a win, also if he starts Rettig and we win he would be proving himself wrong.

could be. In end, 3-1 and he's a hero (or at least, definitely back for next year). heck, 2-2 and a bowl win (yes, it could happen) - and he's still back.

If you watch KF, on his post game press conference, he looks very serene as if he knows his job is safe. KF is more focused on being 1 and 0 each week versus being 6 and 6 at the end of the season. He must know he'll be back in 2016?

I think he doesn't want to give Rettig a chance to prove him wrong. He's been on that 1-0 BS since he's got there. I wouldn't read too much into it.

You say 1-0 BS and I agree I never liked that saying or approach or
whatever you call it. And I never liked FAMILY, because my family
doesn't rob their drug dealers, abuse women and such.

I am seriously considering not even watching the game next week. Not surprised, but disappointed that he won't even consider a change.

Rettig: please stay and hopefully a new coach next year will give you a chance.

Laviano: play like you did against Indiana and not against OSU, PSU, or Wisconsin.
