How in the world can Texas have just six wins last year and only slightly improve thus far this year (close wins vs BYU and A&M)? How can Florida basically suck after Tebow? Urban Meyer, great name, 2 NC, and left Florida in the toilet. These programs baffle me. Almost unlimited resources, the best recruiting grounds, and subpar football teams two years in a row (realitively speaking). Here's my guesses:

1. Entiltlement- the most talented dominate in HS, it comes easy, so they don't work hard and thefeeling of being the big football star at a big time program automatically makes you good. It doesn't. Program discipline plays a big role in this too.

2.Recruiting and evaluating talent- these programs have not properly evaulated talent, possibly depending too much on 3rd parties, "flashy stats", recruiting stars and the like.

3.Player development- I don't know how much a difference there is between strength coaches/programs, but I do know this- Alabama and LSU are by far the most physical teams in the nation.Whatever they are doing, its aheadof the curve.

Meyer was very vocal about not cheating in recruiting. At the same time, alabama is donating huge amounts of money to the athletic dept. of a school in south florida that just so happened to have two all-world recruits (and I'm pretty sure they ended up at bama). He was pissed about losing Patrick Peterson to lsu. I think florida went through some of the same **** that we did last year.

Well, Florida didn't miss originally. He just happened to finish at Auburn.
