This makes a lot of sense. How in the world did the committee include Washington or Michigan in over UGA? UGA would be favored over either of those teams on a neutral field, that is the definition of being better. The committee clearly had an anti-SEC Conference bias and were more focused on diversity instead of merit.

Given the homeowners' insurance crisis that Florida is now facing, it would seem that the AG would have more important things on his mind. I understand being upset about the Seminoles being left out and I understand that FSU is right there in the state capital, but it is a game and not a crisis.

Nothing will come out of it decision wise, but the corrupt committee members will be completely exposed, as they should be

Not only was this a stain on college athletics, but it cost FSU millions of dollars

Someone’s (or multiple people) gonna pay
Leaving the ACC while under contract & under a Grant Of Rights agreement will cost FSU many more millions, but it's "full speed ahead" on that front, amirite?

You’re right
Still doesn’t excuse the fact that that espn pulled some ********, and the rents about to be due

Politicians often insert themselves into sports when there is a lot of attention and salty nonsense.
FSU was actually saved from being embarrassed
TCU lost to Bama last year 65-7 and 2023 playoff committee wants no repeat.
Being undefeated isn't the end-all.

Committee said the FSU QB situation was a big factor .
In FSU's last game the back-up QB was 8/21 with 0 TDs/INTs and a 12.7 QBR
The handwriting was on the wall.

Then you had a GA team dominant/undefeated for 29 straight games with one loss to Bama.
Bama was much better at seasons end.
A late season GA beating meant more than an early season scuff vs FSU.
No way both GA and Bama were going to be left out of playoffs for a crippled FSU.
Its practically a lock FSU wasn't beating Bama or GA despite a Sept loss.
2014 Ohio St had an early season loss and then beat the stuffing out of everyone including Bama and Oregon

LOL
Michigan was not beating FSU by 30
Washington was not beating them by 30

Additionally, they had their third strangler back in versus Ville, not the back up

Tate was in concussion protocol due to the gators late hit in the fourth quarter at the swamp

He absolutely would’ve played in the playoffs, against a less than impressive Michigan team or a Washington team, and nobody would confuse with the 85 Bears

We have officially institutionalized bad sportsmanship. Committee should refuse Florida AGs' tantrum.

Tate was crappy too in his next to last game vs 5-7 Gators.
12/24 for 134 yds and QBR 0f 43.8 and -26 rushing.
FSU was going nowhere in playoff games and CFB is about chasing $ now - they dont want another TCU bomb

Again, Michigan and Washington are not the 2000 Ravens.

Hell, the way FSU defense was playing, you may as well compare them to that team

But Acting like a TCU situation would happen is a blatant assumption, and likely a wrong one.

Georgia lost to a team that should have lost to a team that was smoked by New Mexico State at home. This was a down year for the SEC.

Is Paul Finebaum on the committee?
Nope, dope!
The committee is easy to lookup. Lazy people always say the dumbest things.

Chris Ault, former head coach and athletic director at Nevada
Mitch Barnhart, athletic director at Kentucky
Boo Corrigan, athletic director at NC State (committee chair)
Chet Gladchuk, athletic director at Navy
Jim Grobe, former head coach at multiple schools
Mark Harlan, athletic director at Utah
Warde Manuel, athletic director at Michigan
David Sayler, athletic director at Miami (Ohio)
Will Shields, former NFL player and Outland Trophy winner, College Football Hall of Famer
Gene Taylor, athletic director at Kansas State
Joe Taylor, vice president of intercollegiate athletics, Virginia Union University
Rod West, former Notre Dame player, member of the board of directors for the National Football Foundation
Kelly Whiteside, professor at Montclair State University, 14 years as a college football writer at USA Today

I think you’re underestimating Michigan. While it may have been a 14 point game. Their defense was legitimately every bit as good as FSU. Their offense would have been definitively better than a Tate lead FSU.

Don't argue with the delusional FSU fan. FSU with Tate wasn't in Michigan or Ohio State neighborhood. Closer to PSU at best.

Are they done investigating and setting NIL standards and now need to find another useless task to take up involving College sports.
Maybe throwing them a few more free tickets to the games they want to see will have those investigators claim after a thorough investigation they came to an unanimous decision

Interesting that Kelly Whiteside is on the committee. Kelly is a Rutgers Alum and is the daughter of the late Joe Whiteside a former senior executive in finace at Rutgers. Joe was one of the nicest people I have ever encountered and was a great supporter of Rutgers Athletics.

As Feinbaum pointed out on his show today, ESPN and the ACC are partners. What sense does it make going after them?

Am I the only one who can guess who has the ability to make the others lives miserable.

Michigan would have been favored (and rightfully so) and likely won the game

But anyone comparing the Georgia - TCU outcome is way off base IMO

Bama is the more valueable asset

I would think that the NJ AG would stay out of it. And in fairness, many on this board would criticize his inaction.
agree No chance the NJ AG would go as far as the FL AG, which I was slightly surprised with being that she’s a UF grad

This is so silly. One resume was selected over another. Alabama clearly played a tougher schedule and wasn’t going to be missing their starting QB.

This would be like someone from NJ taking the NCAA to court for our snub from March madness last year. I thought we deserved to be in but None of us thought there was actual fraud involved. This is the same thing.

Bad sportsmanship? What would you think if this exact same thing happened to Rutgers ?
Cincinnati got snubbed with an undefeated record years ago out of Rutgers old conference (AAC at the time?) and for me that established the precedent that being undefeated does not entitle you to one of the 4 slots. In the absence of any evidence of wrongdoing, this is a frivolous action. There are 4 conference champs in the playoffs and they all had higher sos then FSU. Team record is not one of the key criteria of the committee. It's not the way I would have picked it, but its within their discretion.

I get the anger and disappointment, but an investigation by the attorney general? That seems a little ridiculous. It also is bad practice to ask a group that was working confidentially to reveal their conversations. This committee didn't have any legal jurisdiction over anything, so this is a very slippery slope.
