Today is bowl pick'em day and it looks like our 2 bowl options wil be the Outback on Jan 2 (Florida)or the Music City on Dec 30 ( Tennessee).

We better hope the Cotton takes Wisconsin or we might not play in the Outback... Also Iowa fans think they are headed to Tampa over Nebraska...
Either the Outback looks at our head to head game or they look at the better record by virtu of them losing to a FCS team and Nebraska never playing in the Outback and Iowa played there 3 years ago.

Nashville on new year's Eve.... could be worse places. great city.
Is the weather much better than here that time of year. That is why I hated the cotton bowl. As a kid growing up, I guess that kind of assumes I have, watching the cotton bowl was always 45-50 degrees and rainy. Then you watch the Florida bowls and the Rose bowl and it's like, dang I'm glad we're not in the Southwest conference.

Just don't let it be Tennessee... I live in Memphis and I will never hear the end of it if they beat us. Surely they would prefer to go somewhere further away.

Not sure why most Iowa fans are so confident in the Outback. We've been there a bunch of times and haven't been to Holiday in a very long time. Never been to Music City and it sounds fun, though no matter which option plays out, the B1G squad will be playing against a team in their own backyard!

I'm an hour and 15 mins from Nashville and can tell you it more than likely won't be warm. Probaby in the 40s, but could be in the 60s or 20s. The weather in this area is pretty unpredictable.

Lets play an opponent we have a chance to beat so we can build some momentum to finish off recruiting and head into the off season!! Winking

You should know as well as myself that Florida has a strong defense and pretty lame offence.
Tennessee D is their weakness and their QB would give us trouble but they also start slow in games just like our Huskers.

I am aware of that...thanks. But both opponents would be very challenging given some of Nebraska's current issues on both sides of the ball.

Florida would be extremely scary. Their defense would be all over the offense and while their offense has been pitiful they have some serious speed that could get a ton of big plays against us (just like Iowa)

Especially given Florida would have plenty of time to prepare for the bowl game and exploit our weaknesses.

Hopefully our defense will show up no matter what bowl game we play in....

They didn't show up and took the day off in Iowa city.

It sounds like you are assuming that Riley and Co are just going to sit around and not exploit Florida's weaknesses. They did it last year with UCLA.

I am contemplating what Florida's defense will do to Nebraska's offense with the extra time to prepare. I understand that Riley and Co aren't going to be sitting around playing rock paper scissors. I also know that Florida's defense will be the best unit on the field if we play them and that could be scary to say the least given our offensive struggles.

The same people that don't like Nebraska chances in a bowl were the same people that didn't like their chances against Oregon, Indiana, Minnesota and the 6 other victories.

I'll take the 9-3 record on the field over the 3-9 record they complied with their insight.

Hmm? What about those who didn't like our chances against OSU, Wisconsin and Iowa?

I know, it's a conundrum.

Way to totally miss the point... but I'm not surprised you missed it, quite honestly. Let me spell it out for you.

For those games you referenced, most people thought we would lose them. Wisconsin at night at their place, tOSU at night st their place? Tall order to win those games. Iowa with a limping Tommy or one armed Ryker? Not a surprise there either. We weren't favored in any of those games. It was easier to argue we would lose any of those three.

On the other hand, with the rest of our games, we were favored to win them and still we had the same people picking against them. Why? If you are honest, the only logical conclusion is that you don't like the coaching staff.

There are certain posters that only post to complain about these coaches. You are one of them. When have you posted anything positive about these coaches? I won't lose any sleep waiting for a response...

Funny. The blind describing the beauty of a sunset to the seeing.

I'll absolutely post something positive about this staff the day they win a championship, or the day they leave. I wonder which has the better odds?

Funny... the child trying to lecture the adult. Any grownup that isn't petulant will at least be open to supporting a team with a 4 game turnaround from the previous season.

Most of rileys detractors this season have recognized the turnaround. I would imagine they are hoping that continues into the future. I see no signs of this in you.

Carry on with your childish and idiotic posts.

With this staff, that could very likely be our record next year.

What a miserable season this has been for your lot. You haven't even had anything to pound your chest about until late October. Sitting through 7 straight wins must have been awful. At least you got to be "right" 25% of the time - so it's not all bad. Hope springs eternal, though. You can beat the rush and start being pessimistic about next year now!
