Possibly extra motivation for the gators...trying to extend their season..a win against UK puts them at 17-16. So if they beat UK, and then lose in semis, they would be 17-17..does that get them in the NIT?

of course they are playing UK for a third time, any chance UK takes them lightly?

FL's players could care less about a possible NIT bid. They are a failure this season, and always have 100% motivation when they play UK to prove otherwise to the world that they are not in fact a massive failure this season. I seriously doubt they can be even more motivated when they are already maxed out there. That said, motivation won't save them tomorrow when their legs tire out in the 2nd half and UK is still fresh. They got tired last week the last 10 minutes...it will happen faster tomorrow IMO.

Florida players did not run their mouth, one player stated we were beatable and we are Ole miss was probably a cramping player from doing it.. I am sure the UF players and coaches will tell you they are playing for the automatic bid.

I'm not positive, but I think the NIT has invited teams from the "Big 5" with losing records. They could get an invite even if they lose. Mainly what the NIT is looking for are teams that can host a game and actually draw a decent crowd. Granted, that's not a given with Florida which in the end could be what keeps them home. Which is exactly where they're headed later this afternoon.

That is EXACTLY what they are thinking. They know history. Remember the year Georgia did it and beat UK on the way?

don't downplay the desire to keep their season alive and continue playing. A loss to UK would end their season. A win would extend it.

I just hope the cats don't take a w for granted is all.

Possibly. I just read that no team with a losing record has ever been given an NIT invitation.

The question is why did Moody cramp in the first place? It was because UK had the horses to out run Ole Miss. Ole Miss and Moody had to play so unbelievably that he started cramping. Has any UK player cramped this season due to exhaustion?

Hmmm... I didn't know that. I think UF will be the first.

(I do think the Gators will put up quite a fight today, though)

Things Florida is thinking about:

1. Winning the SECT to get the auto bid.
2. Beating UK to ruin the perfect season.

Winning a single game to help get to the NIT--I doubt they're putting much thought into that.

I hope UC beats the Conns today. 18-14 should keep them out of the NCAA, I'd think?
