I know a lot of people dislike them. I lived there and went to FSU games in my teens. My uncle played there and was in the group with Reynolds and Corso. I have never been ashamed not wear our colors or FSU until now.
This whole thing with what has come out lately has made me ashamed that a University would do anything like this. We've always heard the lengths Bama and others would go and what The Barn did do. The accusation against the FL QB smacks of the same thing as Winston. From the original charges filed against QB at FL and the girl withdrawing charge stinks too. I'll always be a Bulldog and glad we haven't sold our souls to the devil to do it.

Just cross your fingers that our kids keep a level head and stay out of trouble.

We (MSU) are about to be scrutinized and under the microscope like NEVER BEFORE !!!

Yep. You would think that one of the first things a coach tells a player at orientation would be keep your fly zipped, stay out of bars and strip clubs, no drugs. I dont our players have the egos to believe they arent replaceable

I wouldn't be ashamed of the academic side of FSU- they actually seem to be trying to make things right. While they have no judicial power, they seem to be taking the only steps thy can in order to right this wrong. If you hadn't heard, they're taking Winston before some sort of honor council, and if he is found guilty, he will be kicked out of school and subsequently off the team. You gotta remember- it wasn't FSU that let him get away with rape, it was the Tallahassee PD that covered things up.

FSU is only investigating the rape because the woman filed a Title IX complaint against FSU. They could lose $400M in Federal funding if they don't fully investigate a sexual assault on campus. They didn't start the investigation into the case until after the Title IX complaint.

Buying this kind of thing is strange to me. I have a few autographed items and the whole fun to me is that it's a memento of meeting that person.

Each his own...but God help the person who takes it to far and get's one of our players in trouble.

Go to Ebay and search for Dak's and other players autographs and you will be surprise.

Seems as though the Athletic Department, PD and Winston and lawyer had a meeting to discuss strategy.

out of curiosity i searched

I actually was surprised. But really it doesn't look like any Dak items were nothing more than what fans have gotten and trying to turn a buck or two out of it.

What surprised me more was my next search...NKemdiche. He has similar items he's autographed and they all have the certificate of authentication that come with them.

That would worry me.

90% of that stuff comes from Fan Day. If there was a lot of 500 identical images with a signature in the exact same spot, I would get very concerned. But that's not the case.

Like all the Nkemdiche mini helmets that come with the certification of authenticity? Probably 30 or so mini helmets like that on ebay from him.

I agree! I would only be worried if it was one guy selling 100's of stuff. My son has Dak Autograph on two mini helmets and two MSU white footballs.

At least earlier in the season, Dak and Robinson would basically stay after games and sign things as long as fans are bringing them to them. In addition to Dak not seeming stupid enough to jeopardize his eligibility for signatures, I doubt anybody was really knocking on his door until at least after the LSU game and probably not until after the A&M game. He just hasn't been a household name for very long. I still doubt Robinson is getting that kind of interest even though his performance would justify it.

To be fair they didn't have any business investigating before. Rape is a serious matter and should be handled by police. The Department of Education is trying to push universities to get into the law enforcement business because of politics, but looking at it objectively major crimes should be handled by real law enforcement agencies.

ETA: Also, I think people are being a little too cynical regarding the local police. I know that there is plenty of corruption out there, but usually cases where there has been heavy drinking are extremely messy. They probably had a witness that voluntarily got intoxicated, performed at least some consensual acts that made it reasonable to assume activity of a sexual nature was likely to take place, text communications not indicating rape, and eye witness testimony indicating that she engaged in consensual activity (admittedly by people probably aligned with Winston). Against that they had the testimony of one person that was intoxicated and can't confirm a lot of details from that night. It's very possible that a rape took place, but it's also pretty much impossible to meet even a more likely than not standard, much less a beyond a reasonable doubt standard. If WInston's case was like most of these he said/she said drunken encounter cases, it probably wasn't a case that should be prosecuted even if it looked like Winston was at the very least sleazy.
