I doubt any of us were expecting to host a super regional in '07. Ole Miss just needs to take care of business in its regional and hope someone dethrones the national seed on the other side of the bracket.

Lost 2 to Msu, won 3 at Ark and looks like 0-2 in tourney, so winning only 4 out of your8 plus the injury to your ace Bittle want go over with the Ncaa.

We have no chance at a national seed, but I don't think we'll be able to fall far enough to not host a regional. We were on the bubble for a national seed coming into this weekend. Play well, we're a national seed. Play poorly, we're a non-national seed host. We chose the latter.

And if by some chance, we aren't hosting, we'll have gotten hosed.

but like you said, if somehow (like a .00001% chance) that Ole Miss doesn't host a regional, someone needs their *** kicked.

At this point, the national seed is gone. We're going to be a non-national seed host, so there really isn't anything for us to worry about. The only way we don't get the host is if we're jobbed on it.

after yesterday, but I have to think this loss will move ya'll out. You now have really no advantage over Florida except for 1 regular season win. They have a higher RPI, better SOS, and better non-conf resume.

He has Louisville hosting depite the fact they have 30 wins, THIRTY, outside the top 100 and only 5 inside the top 50.

This year, they are taking a cue from UGA's 2008 season -- go 2 and out in the SECT, then on to Omaha!! Brilliant move by Bianco. Sort of explains trying the squeeze yesterday with one out and no one on first, dontcha think?

they will host a regional for the 5th time in 6 years. We haven't earned the right to host a sub in the last 6 years.

Going into today, your RPI was #16 and only the 4th best in the SEC. I still think you host, but it's a lot closer to 50-50 than I'd be comfortable with if I were a UM fan. I know that RPI isn't all they look at, but conference record isn't all they look at either.

Yes. It was a joke.

And....remind me again how many times the Rebels have been to Omaha?

for them not to get a regional. Even if they were seeded at the 20th best team in the nation, I still think they would get it.

But, you have to admit the Rebels are on a downward spiral here at the end of the season...

Let's see. To end the season, we took 2 of 3 from both Florida and Georgia (good). We swept Auburn on the road (good). We lost two of three at home to MSU (bad). We swept Arkansas on the road (good). We went 0-2 in Hoover (bad).

I wouldn't call that a spiral. If we had lost 2 of 3 to Arkansas, then maybe. We've had two bad weekends recently. I wouldn't call that a spiral. We're still 7-4 in the month of May.

Our RPI is low because we lost to Saint Louis and Liberty. It's also down because we had two games with TCU (who is a top 20 RPI team) rained out. That hurt our SOS badly and it wasn't something that was our fault. It's not like we were avoiding playing a tougher non-conference schedule, rain just didn't allow us too. I've read two seperate articles saying that would be taken into account. Even if we had lost those games, playing both of them would likely have raised our RPI 2-3 spots.

We're going to host, but we aren't going to be a national seed.

they are now at 5 in the RPI with an SOS of 4. They've won 23 games against the top 50. They have lost 17 but when you've lost only 19 games overall, its better to lose to good teams than bad.
