For a close game, that sucked.

Houston has no one to blame but themselves. Can’t shoot sub 35% from the floor and sub 25% from 3 and expect to win even with their defense.
They dominated almost the entire game. They let it slip away with poor shot selection and bone-headed plays. Me and my wallet were pulling for them.

Stop it. Uf was commonly mugged even likely worse then Sec standards.
I put us in that position, and we would've gotten blown out! I just don't agree with all the physical play. It's not football! Way to much grabbing/holding bumping on cuts! It takes offense out of the game. Houston turns games into rock fights, and has been allowed to do it to! It eliminates players with skill, and gives strong athletes a big advantage.
Just knock them off the post,or a drive.

That came awfully close to looking like some players were point shaving thats how awful those decisions were.

Sucks. Was rooting hard for Houston.

Time for us to get back to the mountaintop.

Tired of it.

Same. The energy they play with on defense, boards, and loose balls is something I had hoped Pope would bring to the team this year. Maybe was personnel, maybe it was injuries but I’d like to see that type of fight going forward.

UK is now a top 4-7 all time program when we used to be without a doubt top 1 or 2.
On what government math is this based?

We are still number 1 in overall wins, number 2 in titles, 3rd in Final Fours, 3rd in Most Consecutive FFs, 1st In NCAAT Appearances, 1st or 2nd in NCAAT games won, etc

Take that uninformed ******** else where.

8 beats 3.

Love how people manipulate things so they can whine about it. Crying around about how “since this year or since that year, so and so is better…”

I guess you would rather be Virginia fans or Baylor fans because they have won more titles in the last few years than we have?

I grew up a Cat fan in the 80’s with UofL fans and IU fans all around me.

You guys are acting like the world is coming to an end because we haven’t won a title in over a decade.

Relax. It’s going to be okay. We are the most consistent program in colllege ball.

We had five titles before Duke won their first.

UConn was nothing until 99. We already had 7 titles by then.

KU was stuck on 2 titles until 2008.

We’ve won three titles since the last time IU won a title.

You guys are a bunch of whine babies.

Go buy some Florida gear and jump on the Gator bandwagon.

Real UK fans will persevere.

Real UK fans know the truth. College basketball didn’t start in 2000 or 2010 or 2025.

Yall find SOMETHING to get mad about all the time.
Florida went through the SEC and NCAA tourney, knocked off double champ UCONN, came back it's last three games and played defense man up with a brutal Houston team.

They earned this one. Congrats to them. Next year is already cooking

Who had Golden with a championship this early? One more than Barnes.
Sean Farnham of ESPN was on him really early. He said when he was at San Francisco that "Todd Golden will win a National Championship as a HC when he moves to a bigger program".

I've been a fan of Golden's coaching for a long time. That being said-Farnham called his shot and he should be getting a lot of credit for what he said during an ESPN telecast way back when.

It's great for UK that the league has elite programs/coaches. It prepares the program for what it'll see in the NCAA Tournament. Hardens you up and you know if you can contend in SEC or win it-you can win the National Championship with the current model where everyone has a chance to have deep rosters due to the Portal.

Anything before 2000 or maybe the 90's is pretty much irrelevant. Recruits dont remember those days because they werent born yet. Adolph Rupp might as well be Adolph Hitler to a kid born after 2000. Why not argue that army and navy are national fb powers? Regardless, No one is arguing that UF is a better All time program. But you illiterate morons like to gas light and change the subject. My point is that UK is no longer top dog and hasn't been in a while. Had a chance to keep that status under Cal but he only won 1 title. Will Pope make this program relevant again? Sweet 16s are nice but aren't going to do it.

And to think of the adversity (yes, all teams talk about it at the end of the season) with all of the allegations against Golden at the start of the season. Could have easily derailed their season.

I know UK commonly thinks nobody in the sec roots for them, but more people do then you might suspect. I root for UK as long as it doesn't prevent uf from succeeding......which is natural.

The only teams I refuse to root for in the SEC are our(uf) rivals UGA and the vols.

In truth, all of UF's success can be slightly contributed to UK being the face of the SEC and compelling us to put forth more effort to succeed. Had UK been a bottom dweller....then we would be there with you.

UK will always be the "big brother" in basketball for the other SEC teams, like how Alabama is the big brother in football.....and when other teams do find success "here and there" it doesn't change that.

I don’t want to sound contrarian, but Florida wins national championships in a lot of sports. They are kind of used to winning national championships.
except the one sport anyone down there cares about. The football program has sunk from national prominence to less than mediocre in the SEC. Florida is firmly and consistently one of the worst 4-5 teams in our conference.

It definitely is tough to win a natty in football. I disagree that UF only cares about football, though. I’m not even sure how you could objectively measure that claim. As far as football prominence, UF has a couple of rough years, but is trending upward.

Impressive call by Farnham. Lotta good young coaches out there and it’s quite hard to win a championship.

National Titles,
21st Century/Last 25 years

5 UConn
3 Duke
3 UNC
3 Florida
2 Kansas
2 Villanova
1 Kentucky
Probably the fairest time frame, just because it covers the time we are under management of the current ‘legendary’ AD, is 2002 season til now. Which only changes that list by removing dukes 2001 title. Even more disappointing is we’ve only had that short window of 5 years of ultra success under cal that was undercapitalized on….whereas everyone on that list sans maybe Villanova found success at multiple points of the 2000’s. We’ve mostly meandered otherwise.
