<h4>IF what happened at Auburn happened.....Here is why:</h4>_________________________________________________<div class="messagebody">
Think about it.</p>
</p>
After
Gene Stallings and before Nick Saban, Auburn, for the most part
owned Alabama. They were aided and abetted by the Albert Means thing
of course, but these were unprecedented times on the Plains.</p>
</p>
Then fast forward to the near hiring of Petrino and firing of Tubeville.</p>
</p>
Auburn goes 13-0 and buys championship rings in 2004. Tubs stays.</p>
</p>
Alabama
on the heels of Albert Means says to themselves: "We can't buy
players anymore, so let's go buy us the best coach that money can buy."</p>
</p>
Enter Nick Saban.</p>
</p>
Two undefeated regular seasons and a National Championship later, Tubs is gone and Auburn says to themselves:</p>
</p>
A. Even if we could afford it, there are no Sabans out there who would come here.</p>
B."Damn,
$200,000 gets us a game changer..besides, Rayne (yellawood) said
construction is down. He can't even sell 100 2 x 4's on a Saturday in
the Spring. He's having a bad run.</p>
C."Lowder says.."I can't get
even get Barkley qualified on that house he wants. We are losing our
arses..besides I need something to happen NOW before Saban makes us
irrelevant!"</p>
</p>
Enter Cam and all for the princely sum of $200,000 paid in cash in the offering plate.</p>
</p>
Don't
think for a second that in the state of Alabama that the power
brokers, and they are aplenty, are moving and shaking at a rapid pace
for the TRUTH to come out asap. Bama people are digging for dirt and
Auburn people are trying to either cover up what is left to cover up or
will bring to light the real story. They certainly can't maintain
their indignation without proof. This is happening WAY too fast.</p>
</p>
I
know one thing: If this crap happened in Athens, (or Columbia for
that matter) we wouldn't play Newton and we would remove ourselves
from the SEC race and throw our player(s) under the bus. Like it or
not (and I didn't like it in 2003). That is how we roll.</p>
</p>
At
Auburn, they long for a legitimate National Championship but they are
used to celebrating seasons (1957, 1993 and 2004) where there is an
asterisk on their school or someone elses. This is who they are.
They will play Cam until someone at the SEC or NCAA says no.</p>
</p>
I hope this Cam Newton story is not true. I hope his daddy, the preacher didn't sell his son in the name of saving souls.</p>
I really don't.</p>
</p>
Jim
Harrick, the former UGA basketball coach whose hands weren't clean,
but certainly not nearly as nefarious as 200k in a collection plate
ironically told Dickie Vitale on camera:</p>
</p>
"It will allllll come out...."</p>
</p>
And it will.</p></div>
