Flowood 2020 ... Now Flowood 2022!

There has been as much snow in Rankin County in the past week as there has been in Sochi, Russia, who is getting ready to host the Winter Olympics.

At the time of this post, it is 12 degrees cooler in Flowood than it is in Sochi. Clearly, we could handle the Winter Games. So, the Flowood Olympic Organizing Committee has decided to bid to host the 2022 Olympic Winter Games.

But we need venue ideas. Obviously, the Pearl Skateland will be converted to host figure skating, and the Jackson fairgrounds can host the ski jump.

Flowood is proud to be the first city to host the Summer and Winter Olympics. Take that, Vancouver 2028 campaign!

Catvet volunteers to be the biathlon commissioner. The course will run a loop around Cetrans Memorial.

Saw that the average winter daytime temp in Sochi is 52 degrees. Perfect place to host a Winter Olympics.

Veterans obviously should host opening ceremonies complete with a "Battle of the Bands" showcase. Will be epic.

Christmas on ice will be extended to host figure skating.

The bobsled course will run the waterworks curve and through the hills of Belhaven. Hockey will obviously be held in the new JSU Dome. Luge and skeleton in the Belhaven Bowl.

All the while, UMC will still not let spectators use their parking garages, so expect opening ceremonies to be about half full 2 hours in as people still can't find a parking place and JPD will be strip searching everyone coming in the 1 gate. Russian and Georgian media sources will praise the games' security measures before getting back to their rental Hyundai to find missing radios and stock rims.
