I was sitting in class when they were practicing and thought a plane was about to come through the window. That thing is loud. It may be the same one that flew over about 30 seconds late last year and everyone about pooped their pants

I was on South Montgomery- almost to the country club, and it came over the tree line. I would almost swear I could see the pilot grinning and pointing at the cars as everyone seemed to try and "dodge" the plane. If not for the fact that it almost caused some wrecks- it was pretty dang entertaining to watch all the cars swerving.

Fedex jets fly over all the time but you know immediately when a C-5 is on approach.? It's deafening.

after trying to dig a bit I think the closest fighters are actually in Panama City, a long haul for a flyover. The places from NAS Meridian can make some noise, I think they are T45's

fly out of Tyndall which is located in Panama City. Sounds like a long haul for the laymen but at the speed they carry they can make it in less than 30 minutes.

Performance
Maximum speed:
At altitude: Mach 2.25 (1,500 mph, 2,410 km/h)[96]
Supercruise: Mach 1.82 (1,220 mph, 1,963 km/h)[96]

I thought something was wrong the first time I heard one of these over the city. It's definitely loud, but there is some odd quality about the noise that makes it even stranger. Words can't describe it, but if you've ever heard it, you know what I mean....

Said the noise is from the way the jet engine is designed. It has two sets of fans in the jet but one is just a half set and thats what causes the whistling noise.

That was drill weekend during the Georgia Tech game. Sat my pissed-off ticket-having derriere at home that night. Come on HQ...get your scheduling priorities in order.

from Georgia to Germany a few years back... Incredible power. If it
comes in slow and hits it over the stadium there will be no need for
cowbells because everybody's ears will be ringing.

Since I was in the student section sipping on my favorite beverage out of my Davis Wade Smelly Collectors Cup, I never saw it coming!

The Thunderbirds were pretty loud at the Jackson Sky Parade years back. One of the best air shows ever assembled. That is one thing Jackson didn't 17 up...until they let it get away..then they 17ed it up.

If you sitting in the upper deck, it doesn't matter what's flying over...it's all badass.

it wasn't a fly-over, it was a fly-through.....he was super low
pillts arenot suppose to get below 500 ft over sparsely populated areas, and not below 1000 ft over populated areas..i'm sure waivers are issued by the FAA for these events...

think 250 knots is max speed for vfr aircraft below 10,000 too</p>
