Many of you may have read the article by Brandon Speck (sports editor of the Monroe Co. Journal, which is owned by the Tupelo Daily Journal BTW).....He wrote a column last week criticizing the reaction of MSU fans regarding Channing Wards committment to the Bears..... Several folks responded with comments to MR. Speck. Well, now he's come out with article entitled, "An open letter to MSU fans"........What a piece of ****.....For some reason, I can't repond in the comment sections below the article so please feel free to give this pickle licker hell on my behalf.....Somone should ask him about Ward's "entitlements" that he received from the owners of a certain oil distributor in Aberdeen......So, if Mr. Speck wants a story and since he's not a fan of either school, as he says, tell him toput his investigative journalist skills to work there.......Now, that would be a story.......

The article was intended to do exactly what it's doing. Same as Mullen calling every game a championship and being on the rise and all that.

This is is probably the most successful article in the last 2 years for this paper. It was so successful be ready to expect more aimed at MSU.

..this is why he'll make a Cottage Industry going after a National Power like The Mississippi State University. The problem with Ward going to Ole Miss is that we will need athletes like him to provide depth for us to be consistent National Championship contenders. Other Power Universities like Alabama and LSU are 3 and 4-deep, while tMSU is only two-deep....the main reason is that Rebel fans refuse to accept the inevitable, that they're no longer competitive in Division 1 Sports much less the SEC, and try to wage a behind-the-scenes Guerilla campaign to steal players.

Since the NEMS Daily Journal purchased both small newspapers in the county and combined them, there is a reason it is commonly referred to as The Moron County Journal! They don't have a clue what investigative journalism is, 90% of each weeks paper is reruns from the past weeks Daily Journal. The only reason anybody reads it is for the high school sports and the gossip section from the neighborhood busybodies. He's a Bear humper that rarely ever mentions State and when he does, it's negative. Brad Locke is the only non biased sports reporter in the company and I think he even used to be the Bears beat writer. If you think Speck is a piece of work, read some of Marty Russels crap!

He's like coach34 who doesn't wish to see MSU basketball fail, he just gets an involuntary erection everytime MSU basketball does fail.

In Brandon Speck, I think we've discovered the small town newspaper equivalent to coach34.
