No idea, but it would be fun to hear the game announcers trying to pronounce that name.Would he be able to transfer to us and start this year as our NT from UConn following Coach Diaco? Just wondering about the logistics of that, and the likelihood of it.
Nope, grad transfers can play right away. Russell Wilson is probably the most famous case.He wouldn't have to sit out a year as a graduate transfer?
I am ignorant of this kid. What is his weight and height? Was he highly productive as a defensive lineman at UConn?Really hope this isn't some pipe dream. This guy would provide immediate help.
Think I saw 6'4" and 310 or 320...big bodied kid who could plug the middle. He's not too tall for the position tho is he?I am ignorant of this kid. What is his weight and height? Was he highly productive as a defensive lineman at UConn?
Someone linked a Pro Football Focus article that ranked him as the #100 overall player in college football last year, they were very high on him. So he seems to have some talent and would fill a big need, hope he is N.I am ignorant of this kid. What is his weight and height? Was he highly productive as a defensive lineman at UConn?

Also saw that he was a good get I think...

Maybe I am missing something. If he very highly rated and a proven performer, why not go pro? We had two last year.
Who knows. Maybe there are alot of good NT in the draft this year. Maybe he has something he needs to improve on to move up the draft board.Maybe he thinks playing another year improves his draft stock and makes him a couple million extra dollars?

yes, pleaseAccording to me I see "Vincent Valentine with a motor"
From the couple draft sites I checked out, they had him listed as the 12th best DT which would put him probably late 3rd or early 4th round. Perhaps he would like to try to hit 1st or 2nd round? The difference in average contracts and guaranteed money from 1st & 2nd round to 3rd & 4th round is millions of dollars.Who knows. Maybe there are alot of good NT in the draft this year. He shortens his name to Foley. He's incredibly productive and and versatile. Even though he's 6'4 310, he can play every position on the D-line, NG in a 3-4, DT in a 4 man from and even DE in the 3-4.
He had 7 sacks and double digit tackles for loss the last two seasons at UCONN. Most importantly, Foley will be a Redshirt senior who has been a Dean's list student at UCONN. I'm guessing he's easily on track to graduate this Spring.
Of course, becoming a Grad Transfer is not as easy as just picking a school. The NCAA does mandate some rules.
1. The Grad program at your new school cannot be offered at your undergrad institution. So if Foley wanted an MBA, it would be difficult to leave UCONN because I'm sure they offer an MBA.
2. The player would actually need to meet requirements to earn acceptance into the Grad program at the new school. This is obvious. If I have a Bachelor's of Arts in Communications from school A, I likely can't seek entrance into a Master's of Atmospheric Sciences and Meteorolgy program at School B.
I believe this rumor has legs. I brought it up on the money board last week.
This kid is a special talent, and he was disruptive vs every team they played the last two seasons whether it was Missouri in 2015, Houston, Virginia, or a no name program.
His presence would really help with the transition of the newcomers into that position. More importantly, it would allow Stoltenburg, the Davis Twins, and Freedom to really develop their craft at the the 3-4 DE spots.. All those guys and Daishon Neal are ideal for the position.
Colin Miller, Quayshon, Marcus Newby, Tyrin Ferguson, Hampton, Gifford, and Guy Thomas (if he sticks) will be the OLBs in the new scheme.
Weber, Dedrick Young, Pernell Jefferson, Greg Simmons, MO Barry, and Avery Roberts will battle for Inside LB.
Foley would really add a great spark inside and help lead a quicker defensive turnaround than people think.
Thanks for this. Informative. So what was/is his undergrad major at UConn? He shortens his name to Foley. He's incredibly productive and and versatile. Even though he's 6'4 310, he can play every position on the D-line, NG in a 3-4, DT in a 4 man from and even DE in the 3-4.
