Would he be able to transfer to us and start this year as our NT from UConn following Coach Diaco? Just wondering about the logistics of that, and the likelihood of it.

As long as he graduates this May. He'd be a graduate transfer. If it takes him till summer I don't know.

Really hope this isn't some pipe dream. This guy would provide immediate help.

I am ignorant of this kid. What is his weight and height? Was he highly productive as a defensive lineman at UConn?
Someone linked a Pro Football Focus article that ranked him as the #100 overall player in college football last year, they were very high on him. So he seems to have some talent and would fill a big need, hope he is N.

So the idea is he swings our way for 1 year as a graduate transfer and kicks *** as a NT while we get a few of our younger guys beefed up to take over that role in 2018?

If he were not to come or get injured, I really do wonder who they'll drop into the NT slot.

Ranked that high? Geez. Any realistic chance we get him or is this just dreaming?

Hail Varsity ( https://hailvarsity.com/s/868/mailbag-counting-down-the-days ) had a story about Diaco and one of the sports guys said this kid will be the starting NT @ Nebraska next year. The guy said he would be eligible as a graduate transfer. Nothing has been spoken about him on radio or from University side. Nobody knows for sure just one sports writers thoughts. See the thread about Nose tackles it's the last 5 or 6 posts in that thread.

Maybe I am missing something. If he very highly rated and a proven performer, why not go pro? We had two last year.

Maybe he thinks playing another year improves his draft stock and makes him a couple million extra dollars?

Who knows. Maybe there are alot of good NT in the draft this year. Maybe he has something he needs to improve on to move up the draft board.

2016- 43 total tackles, 22 solo
2015- 51 total tackles, 34 solo
2014- 31 total tackles, 18 solo

I'd be happy as hell to get him just for his experience in the spot.

I'd have to call him 'Fo Fat', because that is too many vowels.

He would be a welcome addition until Watts and Daniels can get here in force.

From the couple draft sites I checked out, they had him listed as the 12th best DT which would put him probably late 3rd or early 4th round. Perhaps he would like to try to hit 1st or 2nd round? The difference in average contracts and guaranteed money from 1st & 2nd round to 3rd & 4th round is millions of dollars.

Doesn't appear to be any chatter about him declaring from the Google stalking I did. Junior year was not as productive as his sophomore season.

His brother is a linebacker committed to Rutgers. Middle linebacker. Maybe worth a look

Dominate uconns conference and people shrug.

Kick *** in the b1g and people notice. Especially at that position.

If he comes he is looking at a chance at a huge payday. High end nt are extremely coveted.

He shortens his name to Foley. He's incredibly productive and and versatile. Even though he's 6'4 310, he can play every position on the D-line, NG in a 3-4, DT in a 4 man from and even DE in the 3-4.

He had 7 sacks and double digit tackles for loss the last two seasons at UCONN. Most importantly, Foley will be a Redshirt senior who has been a Dean's list student at UCONN. I'm guessing he's easily on track to graduate this Spring.

Of course, becoming a Grad Transfer is not as easy as just picking a school. The NCAA does mandate some rules.

1. The Grad program at your new school cannot be offered at your undergrad institution. So if Foley wanted an MBA, it would be difficult to leave UCONN because I'm sure they offer an MBA.

2. The player would actually need to meet requirements to earn acceptance into the Grad program at the new school. This is obvious. If I have a Bachelor's of Arts in Communications from school A, I likely can't seek entrance into a Master's of Atmospheric Sciences and Meteorolgy program at School B.

I believe this rumor has legs. I brought it up on the money board last week.

This kid is a special talent, and he was disruptive vs every team they played the last two seasons whether it was Missouri in 2015, Houston, Virginia, or a no name program.

His presence would really help with the transition of the newcomers into that position. More importantly, it would allow Stoltenburg, the Davis Twins, and Freedom to really develop their craft at the the 3-4 DE spots.. All those guys and Daishon Neal are ideal for the position.

Colin Miller, Quayshon, Marcus Newby, Tyrin Ferguson, Hampton, Gifford, and Guy Thomas (if he sticks) will be the OLBs in the new scheme.

Weber, Dedrick Young, Pernell Jefferson, Greg Simmons, MO Barry, and Avery Roberts will battle for Inside LB.

Foley would really add a great spark inside and help lead a quicker defensive turnaround than people think.

So the Husker board will go from combing student directories for Darnay, to the UNL 2017 course catalog looking for unique programs that Foley could qualify for :)

Thanks for this. Informative. So what was/is his undergrad major at UConn?

I can't believe that Georgia offers an academic program that Alabama doesn't and that the kid who left Alabama a week before classes started went through the same vetting and acceptance standards as every other Georgia grad student.

There are always waivers and exceptions to rules.

What is Andrew White studying at Syracuse?

Took me all of 5 minutes to realize UCONN offers a MA in Communication. Nebraska offers an MA in Comm Studies with Specialization in Ethnic Studies, Great Plains Studies, or Women and Gender Studies (which is code for Men are Bad).

If he wanted to make that track, it would be acceptable.

And yes, these schools are making concessions. There is no doubt.
