JUCO RB Rashod Henry commits per scout. He's a 1 star, so I'm guessing that he hasnt been evaluated yet. The article called him one of the top Mississippi JUCO prospects, so he should be a 3 or 4 star when its over.

He was Dandy Dozen 2 years ago. Croom backed off and he signed with USM. Ended up signing a major league contract I think. Supposedly speed is his game. Don't think he's very big though, is he?

No, he's not big, but he is super fast. I know a lot of teams looked at him as a CB out of HS so he might be a guy that could play RB, WR or CB.

I think it's a good pickup

behind terry grant. The difference b/t the two is that Henry had great lateral quickness that grant doesn't have. Coming out of h.s., most people thought that he would be a corner. Coming out of h.s., there was no way that he would qualify, so he didn't get a whole lot of attention. Although, I believe that Melvin recruited him for awhile. He was drafted in baseball and played that for a very short period of time before going to pearl river for football. I have a friend who hangs out with the headcoach at pearlriver and he told me a story that sounds like urban legend, but here goes. Apparently at the beginning of last season, Henry showed up at pearl river just in time to start classes (he had been playing baseball). He had apparently missed all of two a days and was on the sideline in street clothes for the first game. At some point, he kept asking the coaches to let him return kickoffs and they relented and let him put on his uniform and the first one he returned was for a touchdown. Don't know if it is true, but that came from a guy that is tight with Hatten. I do know that he is a tremendous athlete and although I am surprised he is playing running back, he would fit the mold that mullen likes with those shifty fast backs.

He is listed at 5-11 185. My guess is that he is being recruited as a slot receiver. Anyone know if he came out of Lumberton fully eligible? If he did, he could come in this summer.

and it was no secret that he was not going to qualify. If he had been eligible, everyone would have been on him as a corner. After grant graduated, he moved to running back and did crazy things his senior year. This guy was a better athlete than grant. In a straight ahead race, grant might beat him by a touch, but grant can't touch him when it comes to pure quickness. Everyone from lumberton would tell you that he was a better athlete, but noone took him too seriously because at the time he apparently didn't take anything very seriously himself. Here's hoping he has grown up.

thinking in terms of running backs and wide receivers, and just get used to recruiting athletes. It's all about putting as much speed on the field as possible.

But hot, nasty, bad-*** speed.

I believe Eleanor Roosevelt said something similar to that one time.

That's what I'm worried about every year. You could put LT behind our offensive line the past two years and he would struggle.

He was the week 1 MACJC Special Teams player of the week. He returned a kickoff 86 yards for the score.

He is listed as a WR/DB on PRCC's roster. He rushed 33 times for 240 yards or 7.3 yards per carry and scored 6 total tds
Edited to add that the above stats are only through the first 6 games of the year

I hear we have a great shot at James Hurst. He is Nelson's brother. (sarcasm)
