The top teams from the SEC (Florida, Bama, LSU, Georgia) are just about half way to filling their class with verbal commits in the top 150. We have two so far that are unrated. Even Ole Miss is off to a better start than we are and their coach just got there a few months back.

Kids that commit super early have a high % of waffling at the end anyway unless they're commiting to Bama, LSU, Florida, etc. and honestly most of the top prospects we're after (and other mid tier programs for that matter) are waiting to see if they get Bama, LSU, Auburn offer.

That's just the way it generally works. We have fewer spots this year and I think the coaching staff likes guys to commit in the crowd of camps to help recruit other guys.

Nothing to worry about yet.

On a different note. While I was browsing through the ESPN top 150, I noticed that Ole Miss seems to have offered a lot more players throughout the country. I saw that our offers were mainly on a smaller footprint around the southeast. Do you think that the Ole Miss shotgun approach of offering from east coast to west works? I guess you can equate it to hitting on every girl at the bar. Eventually you might get lucky.

They throw a ton of offers out and see if there is any interest back. Keith from rivals tweeted a couple weeks ago that OM had 200+ offers out. I cant remember the exact number. Sure if you hit on every girl in the bar you might get lucky but you might find out that hottie you got home has been engaged 4 times and is bipolar. When entering a long time commitment, girls or football scholarships, you do your homework and get an idea before you jump. The 2 stars are kinda like chubby girls, cute in the face and work awful hard to make you like em bridging the gap till you land the level headed 4 or 5 star
