This year I upgraded my football seats. It appears I'll be in section E, row 52. My question is for those who've sat in that area. Do you get much shade during the day games? I've always sat on the other side in full sun.

For 11:30 am kickoffs (or whatever it will be this year), you generally won't be in the sun for more than the first half. For 1:30 kickoffs, you'll be in the shade for pretty much the whole game.

Has your Dog Tag been updated with your ticket location or did you talk to the ticket office directly? My order still indicates my tickets are "to be assigned."

i am in the 1400s (ranking)...and have worse seats than you.
i doubled my the amount of my gift two years ago
to improve my seats, and i still get same seats.

yes, i have requested to be moved; for whatever reason
i stay in same place. i am going to drop my gift back to
the original amount. i get no benefit (seat selection wise)
for increasing my contribution.

I think that reason is the number of tickets you can purchase at the higher levels of membership. I pledged the same amount this year that I gave last year and I moved up around 900 spots in the Bulldog Club (from the low 3300's to the low 2400's) but only moved up 5 rows in the same section I was in last year (row 17 to row 22). Was it worth $1600 more to move up 5 rows vs. only paying $400 to keep my old seats? Only time will tell. If this happens next year, I'll find somewhere else to spend the extra $$$.

The seating is obviously dominated by the big-boys that I'll never be able to catch so some friends and I came up with another idea. One guy we tailgate with is in the mid 1000's. We were going to drop our personal donations to the minimum amount just to stay in the BC and donate under him to blow people out of the water and increase his gift to around $20k a year. Yeah yeah I know about the tax write offs but we were going to figure out something. I say that we WERE going to do that until someone that I trust told me to hold off because he thinks there may be rumblings about re-seating Davis Wade like they did the Hump.

My parking assignment says "17:6:14"? WTF does that mean?

If its Lot 17, that would be the same as last year too.

the other numbers denote row and parking spot number, but mean nothing since parking in each lot is first come, first serve. The lady at ticket office says they only use the second and third numbers to keep up with the amount of permits per lot.

The explanation I got from the Ticket Office is that regardless of your BDC rank, as long as someone gave the minimum required for a section they retain their seats from the previous year or years. So if a first time giver gave 10,000 but all people in his sections renewed at the minimum level then he could not move into Section D although his rank may be worthy of that section. Same applies for Sections C and E. If everybody renewed their seats then even though you or I may have doubled or tripled our BDC donation and increased our rank greatly we can not move up seating wise unless seats become available by people not renewing them at the minimum levels.

I think a new seating policy needs to take place where it is done on your rank. The only thing the rank is used for now in football is for parking assignments. I am not sure how the rank affects basketball since I do not buy basketball tickets.

I've always understood the "good" seats are grandfathered in. That plus I think a lot of the old timers buy their full allotment of tix and then sell/give extras to family etc. Therefore few are left over for re-assignment to higher bidders.

the way he did for baseball. Complete idiocy. Truly, we need priority seating for all sports. When the legacy seats expire in basketball, it will be the first sport seated fairly. Baseball is a lost cause due to lifetime deals.

Where do we see what seats we got? Have they officially given us seats, or are the seat locations just showing the same as last years still?

Same question with where to view what parking lot we are in?

she said many of the seats had been assigned. That was early in the week. May be done now. It is listed on your dogtag. Look under order history specifically at your order for football tickets this year. Over to the right it will have a section, row, and seat numbers. If this is not apparent on your dogtag, just call the ticket office tomorrow and I'll bet you can have all your questions answered.
