I'm not sure why West Charlotte dropped from #1 in 8A to #3 in 8A because of a very close game loss with a superior #1 7A Grimley team. Time will tell the truth but I beleive Werst is blinded by the minor enrollment factor. Of course other 8A teams might have something to say about that.

Was Grimsley superior? Really? With only one penalty to West's 97 yards in penalties, I think the Whirlies got a little help.

It was odd to see such a low count of penalities in the whole game - Seeing the hightlights, I would say both teams got help!!!

Keep your eye on Grimley for the reat of the season - barring injuries, I think you will agree with me.
I already agree with you. But not because they have all of that talent natively in their district. These days, with unlimited transfers these teams like Grimsley, are a dime a dozen nationwide. The same teams are winning every year. Every season, I can count on fingers one hand the teams that'll be contending, and it never changes. Weddington won...yawwwwnnnn. Hough won. Other than winning a game against a SC team, there's no surprise there. Rolesville? The surprise there was they lost week one to Mallard Creek. Grimsley. They're now so what? They win every season with their transfers and unofficial recruits. It's no big deal anymore. Everyone knows who they are and what they are. Soooo? Just shrug our shoulders and move on. College is going to be getting the same way. Grimsley winning is no big deal anymore. In fact, in some ways, it's rather boring.

Yes, I am so frustrated with the nearly open door policy on transfers. I think the whole College / NFL recruiting process has really messed with the high school athletic experience. Have you noticed how some D1 players have a Mil $ value attached to them. Shame on them!!! I'm get the whole transfer process to schools the garner the attention of recruiters is the current theme. It does help get attention but it also makes the high school experience less pure.
