Gene asked if he put pictures on his site and Greg shot him down. He wants the Ath. Dept. to be the one to release that info.

BMT, that is EXACTLY the point that I believe so many have been missing for the past few years. Think back to when you were that age playing sports. It was very important that you at least thought you looked good/imposing/cool in your uniform. That way, if you were terrible, you could at least draw sympathy instead of laughter......from girls......just sayin'.BigMotherTucker said:

thread discussing this, love it or hate it as a fan, the Dog Pound Rock HAS to be a great recruiting tool as well. The last few years our players have been begging to do it but unfortunately that outward show of emotion from our team has been reserved for the locker room postgame.
In my day we wore our stirrups high and hat brims rounded. I still thinks that looks good. 18 year olds don't. They want long pants (not even sure if they wear stirrups) and flat brims. Will a kid be caught dead in the old basketball shorts? I went through white, black and colored shoes. So I doubt any of you guys know what is cool for a football uniform to an 18 year old now.
I was hoping that would not change, but they will sell more hats if they do change it. All those old guys with the 10 year old hats will have to get a new one.
A valid point to be sure, BB. However, I do believe that 18 year-olds read/keep up with what the fans think. Who's to say that some of the regular posters here aren't college kids, too? Granted, some may be and may actually like the recent uniforms, but think back to the last time there were so many dissenting opinions on our uniforms. I can't remember a time, and it sure ain't the losing that's doing it. Sherril's last few teams lost constantly, and there was NOTHING said about the uniforms.Bulldog Bruce said:

I did not initiate a post to comment on any uni fashions. I also basically said I had a preference, but they could go ahead and do it and it might be the right thing to do. In other words, let the people who's job it is make the decision.
It just amazes me that uniforms, helmets, hats and logos get so much play on this board.
If we want cool uniforms I think we go with a Blue and Orange with Bulldog in script on an orange helmet. Or maybe Crimson and Gold with a bulldog in a Spartan helmet.

What color purse and pumps should they wear with their uniforms? Give me a break. The emphasis on uniforms is pretty funny. Unless they're wearing clown suits, I don't think it really matters that much.
