For a guy that doesn't coach offense or run set plays

Stans sure was receiving alot of credit from Gotfried on the plays that were being run. He diagrammed 3 or four plays that we ran.

I particularly liked the high low with Kodi and Sidney. As an added wrinkle, when he high man received the pass, one of or shooters would shoot to the wing. So if they doubled down on the high or the low man, the wing man was open. That play took them out of zone every time they tried to zone us.

It seems like Stans and Gotrfried have burried the hatchet, as Gotfried said nothing but good things about him all night.

becoming a braodcaster. With the exception of the comments earlier this season about our program being out of control. And to any unbiased observer, he was dead on with that comment.

I can draw up a set and have someone run it. Everyone on this board can.

Its what you do the other 80% of your possessions when you are in a motion offense thats coachable.

At this point, we just ball screen for Dee. Its not a terrible concept b/c all teams want to allow their playmaker to do just that--make plays. The problem is it gets us pushed out on offense and when someone besides Dee touches the ball its panic that results in a forced move/shot or just trying to get the ball back to Dee as soon as possible.

he had more energy and you could see it meant something to him though, and that was good to see.

Sidney's basketball I.Q. is the highest I've seen play for us in quite some time. He was flashing to the open areas of the zone, making good passes- knowing immediately where to go with the ball- all the little things...falling on the loose ball last night with the shot-clock running down, and calling an immediate time-out because it was an important possession...

Both teams zone's sucked last night. Mississippi penetrated at will, they were just too ****** to take real advantage...We did a good job vs theirs- having 2 guys that can shoot from the elbows like Sidney and Kodi should make us tough to zone

There's alot to build on- it's just hard to get real excited when you have to win the SEC Tourney to get a bid.

Kudos to RS, however, anybody with that's been around bb, knows that you attack the 2-3 with dribble penetration or high/low sets. 8dog nailed it, plus RS had to run the high/low set because we really don't have a good slasher in the line up except Dee. Still a good job by Rick.

Like you said, Sidney has a really high basketball IQ.

Case in point, we ran the same set when Wendell was in the game. Wendell was to slow to notice both Kodi open under the basketAND Bost open on the wing, so we had to throw it out and reset. My point being, without Bost and Sid on the floor, we could be running the same play, but it would be hard to recognize it as a play because of the way it was executed. Insert Tranny and it gets even worse. Bryant and Steele are decent ball handlers, but they aren't point guards; they can't see a play developing like Bost can.
