question to you:

Throughout the Southern US, you have a huge Industry of Poultry/Meat processing plants. They have 1,000 plus employee's standing shoulder to shoulder working their shifts. Do you shut it down?

Food production would fall under “essential industry” and wouldn’t be included in any reasonable shutdown strategy. In this situation the “public benefit” far exceeds the risk.

Yep if I’m not mistaken, people need to understand “lockdown” does NOT include food and supply chain industries along with grocery stores, gas, banks, medical, etc. essentials will stay open and lockdown is only getting out to do those things or exercise.

If they can keep people from doing recreational type things or entertainment where you are in confined larger groups, that’s what slows it, along with areas outside where you are closed together. I know a few public parks around Jackson at closed.

Does toilet paper manufacturing fall under essential?**

2 things here:

1) You won't get a real answer from the panic-mongers, because of number 2 below...
2) The panic-mongers don't really care about rural areas and middle America, they are only concerned with big cities and do not understand anything else, so they can't answer, since their virtue signaling and fake morality will be compromised.

You see, they are scared shitless (for themselves, not you or I). That's why they need toilet paper.

ETA: See Exhibit A above (KentuckyDawg13). He wasted no time downvoting me hahahaha

I see the date. I dont understand why you posted this though.
Because whatever he does is blasted by the left. Restricts travel - he's racist
Doesn't restrict enough travel - he's incompetent
Doesn't get tested - he's hiding something
Gets tested - he's lying about the results.

How do you know what he and his team have been working on with this virus behind closed doors since January? As the Leader of this country, it is his job to remain calm and try to keep people from panicking. I guess y’all would have felt better if the President had stood up there and said bend over, grab your knees and kiss your *** goodbye.

You only believe what you want to believe anyway.
So carry on. Hillary would handled it much better I am sure.*****

We are in the infant stages of the spread in the US. I’d hold off on passing judgement on that. This isn’t Trump bashing, it’s just the truth about the situation that will happen no matter who is president.

Anyone supporting a full lockdown/shutdown is a damn fool and their opinion really doesn't matter. They'd hand over their rights and live off everyone else if they could anyway.
Just follow the guidelines. It's not that difficult.

I have no idea how Hillary would handle this. That is completely beside the point though.

Trump was mocking and dismissing this just a couple weeks ago. It wouldnt make sense for someone to do that whose administration had been working hard on this issue for over a month.

I get all that, I really do. I dont understand why the date was underlined.
I am slow on the pickup sometimes though, so perhaps its obvious why that date was underlined.

I read an article yesterday that says the toilet paper industry is kind of divided into consumer (the soft stuff) and commercial (the stuff you wouldn't even steal from your employers restroom storage closet). Since the hotel/hospitality/commercial businesses are shutting down their demand is slim to none right now so those lines that normally produce the commercial stuff for them are now producing for consumers as well as the normal consumer production lines. I hope that means the commercial lines are producing consumer stuff now and not that stuff at my office that I take home and use to sand my woodworking projects.

I work for one of those protein production companies. For the group of plants I work with, the attendance has been average or better so far. I think they understand the need to earn a living and to provide food for our crazy nation. And....no outbreaks of rampant sickness.

Yes, she would have.

Yeah, he didn't call the virus a democratic hoax. He called their (democrats) politicization of the virus their next hoax, like the stuff before it.

Of course you know this, but why be honest when you have a narrative to promote?

And let's wait to see if we turn into Italy before we decide that he's failed or he hit it out of the park.

I do. She would not have closed the borders and the spread would be much worse. Real talk

Real talk- what she would or wouldnt have done is completely beside the point. Arguing a hypothetical is almost as pathetic as claiming you for certain know what the answer to a hypothetical would be. This one is all you- have it as I want nothing to do with it.

Also, nobody over 25 should ever say 'real talk' without using it in an ironic or mocking manner.

Unfortunately no. These are essential functions because no matter what, people have to eat. If the companies shut down on their own, that's another matter, but some jobs will remain open. Trucking, shipping, food producers, food industries, etc must function.

My idiot Governor in Florida just shut down all Restaurant and Bars for 30 days.

He knew it was a pandemic all along.

He was just waiting for the perfect moment to pounce on it!

(sigh)
Trump's travel ban on Jan. 31 had ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH ANY HEALTH OR VIRUS MATTERS. It was an expansion of his anti-terrorism travel bans from three years prior, this time shutting off travel to Myanmar, Tanzania, some other countries, and most puzzling Nigeria. But sure, it's Pelosi and it's criticizing trump and travel, so let's act like it has something to do with a really smart virus-related travel shutdown. For ****'s sake.
