He is on the case as to why exhibitions counted for John Wall but will not for Renardo.

We all know why Wall was slapped on the wrist and Sidney wasn't. It's the same reason Alabama went months without a holding penalty last year.

They have all the power, with no oversight, and wield it in the most arbitrary manner possible. Something has to change.

I believe the only reasoning they gave for why Wall's exhibition games counted vs. Riek's exhibition games not counting is "that each case is decided on its own merit" or some ******** like that. I am sure that is all Sidney will get on this decision.

"The staff determines penalties based on a number of circumstances, but each case is determined individually."

Veazey tweeted that before he tweeted what is in the OP. So, it looks like he is pressing them on it, which will still result in nothing, but it's good that he's apparently trying.

They get more eyes on the games, and more revenue in their pockets. It's similar to NBC and the olympics (warning: crazy conjecture ahead) and how it's not marketed to get crazy sports fans who would watch hours of curling to tune in, it's to get all the midwestern housewives who wanted to be Peggy Flemming growing up to tune in. Similarly, college sports aren't televised for the enjoyment of weirdos like you and me (let's face it) who would tune in to watch any two random teams in the final four, or heaven forbid just want to root for their alma mater, it's for the people who see a UNC-UCLA matchup and instinctively think "now THAT'S college hoops!" It goes along with how you hear much less of the constant drone of "the SEC's down" this season ONLY because UK is good. The rest of the teams are the same, if not worse than last year.
Point being-the talk of a level playing field is crap, and we all know it. Problem is, the people making these kinds of decisions would set the Orange Bowl to be Notre Dame vs. Nebraska every year, and be fine with it, because the money would still pour in.
