Or anyone in the AD:

great day. Great environment. Southern Tradition in the junction is great. My suggestions:

1. In stadium wifi. In stadium wifi. In stadium wifi. That’s the kind of thing that hurts attendance for the next two games bc people can’t keep up with other games. And of course you can’t text friends about the game which is the most fun part.

2. The video board and ribbon board graphics are a mess. From the clock under a minute having no colon. To no time outs being shown. To other stats including down and distance being just hard to find or follow.

Incredibly minor complaint here, but San Diego State's logo was unreadable on the ribbon board, with the D being black and blending into the black background without any outline.

Yes.
1. Down and distance disappearing on replays. Which happens every play. So in between plays when you’re most likely checking down and distance. Nothing there.

2. Under a minute needs the 0 and colon before the seconds left.

3. No where to find the timeouts left.

4. We’ve always struggled with live player stats. Everywhere else I’ve been has extremely detailed player game stats including the opposing team. Need this added.

Yeah. No timeouts on the board was kind of annoying. My AT&T service is decent in the stadium. A long video might not send, but no real issues with text, pics and web browsing.

The Stadium lights were great.

no time outs being shown
Agree with the rest of your post too, but especially this. Hopefully adding TOs is an easy fix and not one of those things that sounds easy, but costs $800K and takes 2 months…

I just posted this in another thread, but Matt Wyatt complained that he didnt know how many timeouts each team had, because he couldnt find it on the video boards.

I thought everything was a giant leap forward - a ton of work had obviously been put into making it a great experience, and it showed. Kudos to everyone involved.

I kept looking for timeouts left, too, so it’s good to know it was just a glitch. The speakers were great for music, awful for speech, but on the T&L podcast they mentioned that what’s in there this year are temporary speakers that will be upgraded next year.

I have AT&T too, and my phone has always been practically bricked as soon as I got in the stadium, but I actually had service this time, 2-3 bars, with texts going through. I even watched the end of the OM-Ky game on the ESPN app waiting on the game to start (maybe the video wouldn’t have worked once the stadium filled up, who knows).

My phone is the same way in the Hump as well. As soon as the game starts I can’t call, text, or browse the internet.

My issues were the clock and the timeouts as well. Under a minute if the game is stopped you can’t figure out which number is the clock until it starts running again. Thats just basic!

Also sitting in the 100 level west side…someone could murder the PA announcer and we would never know. I don’t hear too great, but this year I couldn’t even hear his mumble.

I couldn't get my phone to work to download my tickets...had to walk almost all the way back to Hwy 12 to get it to work. That's a problem. Agree on the scoreboard, I always have trouble finding the down and distance. I don't understand the replay screen and how that is done, can't see anything on those small screens. Can we not just show the replays they are showing on the TV?

Really? Every game I go to my ATT service sucks.
Same here, ATT is solid at all times throughout the country (and out of the country) for me EXCEPT on football and some baseball game days. At 9:30 Saturday a.m. I ran into a blocked road that shouldn't have been blocked until 1:30. Tried to access the Gameday site which has a map of closings, one ways, etc. It would just sit there and spin, and spin, didn't load all day. I caught a person in a golf cart w/ a walkie talkie and reported it and they had it back open like it should have been in about 15 minutes. What good is even having a gameday site if the carrier can't load the site 9 hours before the game? That's not a MSU problem (I don't think) but season after season after season its an issue, seems like MSU could pressure them into upgrading something. ATT just put a new 5G antenna on the East side of campus and it evidently didn't help the issue.

Too many damn numbers, stats, pictures, etc. on the scoreboard. It's disorganized information overload.

I've admittedly been one of the biggest critics of the disco lights. I still don't see $3 million worth of investment, but they were entertaining.

Several of our tailgaters park in the same pay lot. They reportedly asked attendant how much for parking there and were told "$30 credit card or $20 cash". Some things never change.......

This post makes me feel validated. I thought I couldn't find the time outs as a side effect of the bourbon in my system. I legit had a moment of "maybe I don't need to drink anymore since I can't find time outs up there anywhere"

Also where we were sitting west side lower level up high, the audio was difficult to understand, I thought that part was being addressed in the upgrades. Others around me complained about this as well so this one can't be blamed on the bourbon.

When I say text I’m lumping in groupme which is a lot of peoples primary means of communication. And GroupMe sux during a game.

Is this a euphemism? For it really sounds like a pineapple is its icon on your phone.

I have these exact complaints. Cspire didn’t connect until the second half. Also, please stop trying to say too much at once time over the PA system. For example, I can’t understand anything on the salute to service. Just give the name and dates of service, everything else can be on the video board (deployments, awards, family, etc)

I will add that we need to learn how to intro Sweet Dreams. The lights and boards should go to black. Thats what they do at SC for sandstorm and it kills. We just started playing it the other night and I could hardly tell. I think a lot of that was the audio.

Anyone know what the actual cost would be to have WiFi available in stadium at games? Really have no idea

I thought it was top notch. I don't rememberer a single "commercial" played off the Jumbotron. Most of the promos didn't have sound to call your attention to them other than Richard Schwartz. Ads were basically unobtrusive.
The audio, as mentioned, kind of sucked. But I'm pretty sure they were doing what they could to address the issue during the game, it seemed like the PA guy was clearer in the second half.
It's hysterical that they fired the drone contractor at halftime. Publicly and by name. That was my "ops ain't 17ing around" moment.
Don't Stop Believing was perfectly executed.

As far as cost goes to install in stadium WIFI - surely we would bid out to different carriers the ability to install as a "co-investment" strategy. We don't need to bear the full burden of that cost. Let the carrier provide infrastructure and tech upgrades for exclusivity of marketing within the stadium. I know a quick google showed some other colleges did this with Verizon and Att. Someone call Elon and lets get a Starlink partnership. (Just kidding 17 Elon)....(unless they want to do it then... well 17 him anyway)

The lack of wifi and good Cspire service doesn't bother me near as much as it does my wife, who records everything on snap at any big event (concert, ballgame, etc.). So, when service is available, 50 snaps come through at one time.

I, too, was wondering about TOL. Otherwise, the experience was much improved over the previous century-plus.

Just got a email survey this afternoon and they said the timeouts issue was out of their control. How can that be?

This was one of the crazier parts of the night to me that I hadn't seen mentioned yet. I couldn't believe it but he said something akin to, "We're rescheduling the drone show for another game soon, and with a different contractor" LOL that was harsh -- Zac had to be pissed to put them on blast like that. But hey, do your job 🤷‍♂️

They did start adding the 0 and the colon sometime in the 2nd half. So I guess they figured out it was a bit confusing if you just glance up there for the time.

Lol, glad I’m not the only one. I looked all over the stadium & scoreboard for the game clock when it had something like 43 seconds.
