Assuming we are able to hold most of this class together and finish higher rated than the Bears, what will they hang their hat on in February then?

I would be surprised if...

Peters stays in-state

Patterson doesn't end up at Ole Miss

Dear ends up anywhere but MSU

and Lewis ends up anywhere but Alabama

A couple of things

Patterson doesn't end up at Ole Miss

I'm NOT surprised that you have to interject your opinion to every recruiting subject, because of course, you rebs are the experts on such.

Patterson and Jesse Jackson are cousins and best friends. He will be in maroon unless the money is too good to pass up and/or reverend Freeze baptizes him and his mother.

Good to hear and hopefully this will put us in position to finish somewhere other than the bottom 3-4 in the conference for once. If Mullen is ever going to take another step with this program, he was going to have to figure out how to do that.

On another note, I'd like to go on record as projecting that even if we end -up with the #2 class in the country, Ole Miss will miraculously find a way to end up #1. It could result in the death penalty for the program next year for all they care as long as they can hang another recruiting banner.

Are we going to hang a banner in February? Given the history of highly rated recruits from Mississippi, I'm betting a lot of the hyped 2015 class turn out to be busts. Don't get me wrong, I'd rather have a high rated class than a low one. But it's really not something I'm going to get caught up with either way.

They will beat us in the Egg Bowl.

I will bet any ONE person one grand TODAY on that.

Yay, we only have to hold on to these verbals for 11.5 months

and our recruiting on the offensive line lately makes me wonder if we have plans to join the Sun Belt. We need Dak to stay upright most of the next two years.

Not sure where you are getting your info but Patterson is going to be a Rebel. He's been going to games in Oxford since jr high.

It took Croom a couple years to learn how to recruit. I'm sure there was a learning curve with Mullen too.

For the record on the Croom comment, I felt like our talent level was getting better; the man simply sucked at Xs and Os and had a good ol boy setup as his OC.

Update: 247 is now showing Patterson with MSU as "WARMER" from "WARM" and the percentage predicting him to MSU has increased slightly after last weekend. I still think he is a Reb lean, but looks like we gained some ground last weekend. In addition, Peters' percentage for MSU went up slightly so it looks like a lot of the key in-state guys are looking favorably at MSU. It would be nice to get another strong commitment soon to keep the momentum flowing in the positive direction.

It's not as much a comment about MSU or OM with Peters, from what I've heard he just thinks he's bigger than the Mississippi schools, which is unfortunate. Perhaps that is changing.

Bodawg's right

About out OL and Dak's health. We'd better have above avg WR and RB corp to keep the heat off Dak, cause on paper we have a patchwork OL of about 5 guys max. And that's with no injuries. Same story. Either inexperienced, undersized, minimum talent, coming off injuries, swapping positions, defense to offense, etc. Dak is pretty much the whole season. Please, no more ATM 2013 type games for Dak.

Sorry. Couldn't disagree more. 5 guys max? We've got 5 guys with STARTING experience coming back on the OL plus a JUCO, an uber-talented and pretty experienced true Soph, 2 pretty good RSSophs, etc... You didn't even notice all the snaps that Senior got at tackle and Clayborn got at guard -- and that's a good thing.

Don't now. Won't next February.

Our staff doesn't use a 5-6 star recruiting website method of evaluating.
