as a change of pace from threads upon hevesy, rb's shortages, and whatever

What say ye about the ryder cup this year at Medinah? you never know in match play (especially in foursomes or alternate shot), but I say it is probably the strongest team top to bottom for the US I have ever seen. You have a mix of everything. Long guys (Watson/Johnson), great putters (Furyk/snedeker/bradley/kuchar/stricker), all arounds (tiger/dufner/phil), consistency (Zach Johnson/kuchar/Dufner/stricker).

I like the team on a long long Medinah. Very interested to see rookies Bradley (borderline schitzo on course) and dufner (mr. even keel) in that atmosphere. Bradley is usually so pumped in regular events he has trouble controlling himself. Can't wait to see him make a putt to win a hole in ryder cup he is going to lose it. I like to watch him play, and dufner for other reasons. It is usually about who makes putts and momentum. Some of the guys aren't playing so great right now so we'll see. On paper, on our turf I would predict a runaway but Ryder cups never are anymore. Thoughts?

Heading out Thursday afternoon from Memphis International...

Four of us going up to watch the weekend play. I agree, the U.S. is tough top to bottom, but it's going to be tough matches.

I'm heading out this afternoon. Have tickets for the week. Going up to play some golf and watch.

And to the OP, on paper this team is good...but so is that Euro team. I think this is going to be one of the best RCs ever.

For some reason, I don't see them being as good as they have been. I think they have more weak links than we do this year. Who knows though in match play. They better get off to a good lead before singles. I don't think they have the firepower there to handle us in mano y mano matches.

You guys are going to have a big time. Enjoy. Be nice to be there for a victory.

While I like the US team there are 4 rookies and only 2 of the team that aren't rookies, Zach Johnson and Steve Stricker have won 50% of their matches, everyone else is under 50%.

The Europeans only have 1 rookie and only 2 on the team have not won more than 50% of their matches, Molinari and Hanson.

That said, it is usually a great match regardless of past records.

Gotta keep the Cup on this side of the pond...

I see us winning this thing. However, I am not all that enthused about DL3 picking Furyk. I know he's the "tested ol' vet", I was just hoping for younger blood. I think we pull it out in the end. You guys have fun! Can't wait to tune in.

Ryder Cups are diffucult to predict

Both are damn good teams but you would have to say the US has the hotter hand right now. Since the Masters, Watson, Dufner (twice), Tiger (twice), Zach Johnson (twice), Dustin Johnson, Kuchar, Simpson, Bradley and Snedeker have all won. Not mention Furyk has been up there a handful of times and lost it on the last couple holes. The only European Ryder Cup member to win on the PGA tour over that period of time has been Rory.

Rose, McDowell, Westwood and Kaymer have not been playing all that great.. That being said, none of that matters on Thursday, but I would say our team as a whole is currently playing better. Furyk and Stricker are fits with Tiger and look for the younger guns to be paired with the Ryder Cup veterans.

Headed up for Saturday matches and on to Green Bay for Sunday's game.

Should be a good weekend.

Euro team will be tough but I think US wins.

I think your right about the younger guys being paired with the vets but I hope dl3 dosent break up Webb and bubba. They were money in the presidents cup and really fun to watch as a team.
