Which is more likely; he overcomes the losing culture of our program, or our losing culture engulfs him?

Disclaimer; Yes, I realize Saban isn't coming here.

In there years Saban would have UK in the playoffs. Coaching makes all the difference.

I heard someone joke that if Saban wants to prove himself as the best coach of all-time that he needs to come to UK and build a national champion. I had to remind that person that life is not a video game.

Saban would change UK but not as a power house like Bama, we would become like South Carolina did in its prime with Spurrier.

He would win 8 games with this roster, and in 4-6 years have UK in an SEC title game as well as play off picture...

that sounds funny...uk in a sec picture, and play off hunt...no way...the program has too much to overcome...

well there is no time like the present...

folks, it can happen fast with the right pieces...

Guys like Saban, Harbaugh, Kelly, Petrino, etc...they are not only good coaches themselves, true masters of their craft, but they know how to build a staff of great position coaches/teachers of the game, and coordinators...

It can happen folks (maybe not Saban, but a top tier coach and staff), all MB and the uk brass have to do is write the check...

also...people seem to forget that the east is weaker than the west and in general not as strong as it has been in eras past...

At a minimum, we would regularly be top 25, and competing for the East. But that's if Saban came here NOW, with his history of success and reputation as arguably the best coach in college football.

If a young and unproven Saban came here, even with his ability to coach, but without his reputation giving us instant credibility with recruits? I think he would have been able to build something but it would have been tough, and chances are, after getting it started, he'd be moving upwards to someplace else.

This post is the best answer. Kinda depends on which Saban you're getting.

If you're talking about landing Saban TODAY--after he's already got a reputation as maybe the greatest coach ever--winning would be a lot easier because talent would come here just for the chance to play for the great Nick Saban.

But it'd far tougher sledding if it was the young and upcoming Saban, and unfortunately, as soon as he got us on a winning track he'd jump ship to a better program.

Well, we'd for sure get a lot more run on TPFS. Imagine the Phyllis, Legend and Jim from Tuscaloosa caller battles with John Short.

NCAA would start an investigation about the deals cut for the crimson tide (they don't do it, but if he were named Hc at Kentucky something would of been going on). those penalties would stay with the head coach (ala Donnie Tyndall) and we would then have to fire coach Saban.

Yes. Bring in Saban with Harbaugh, Trussel, Fisher, and Kelly as assistants with Dabo as waterborne. Tickets would be $1000 a pop but it would be worth it.
