We haven't had the annual betting discussion yet.

Where is everyone placing their bets this year?
Anybody put anything down on the opening weekend yet?

I haven't sorted my betting situation out yet. I'm wanting to take the over on our season total but not sure where I'm gonna put my money yet.

Gave it up after the South Carolina game in 2011. It was exciting but I just didn't need the added stress. It seemed like the easiest money was betting on MSU games--win or lose, the lines never seemed right. WhenUSCa came to Starkville in 2011 they were only 3 point favorites. I figured Conner Shaw would throw all over the field on us so, I hate to say it, but I took it. In fact, I had it as part of a big parlay. As you may recall we were actually up 10-7 halfway through the 4th quarter. By that time, I had gotten all the other games in the parlay so I was thinking, if we hold on and win I will be happy but if we do lose I will win a whole lot of money. I know, I was a terrible fan.

Well, USC scores late to go up 14-10--still covering the 3 point spread. We get the ball and drive down the field only to throw an interception at the 12. We get them to 4th down. We can maybe block the punt or return the punt and win. Still a chance. USC lines up to go for it on 4th. Guess they are going to take a knee and run the clock out. Oh well, wish we could have won but at least I won big...And then it hit me about a half second before the ball was snapped--why it had not occurred to me until exactly this point I don't know. Spurrier does the most Spurrier thing he can and takes the intentional safety. We lose 14-12 AND USC doesn't cover. All I could do is was stand there and think about how happy Spurrier would have been if he had known. So, that was the end of my gambling career. Just not worth the trouble.

Hilarious to me that you mention that site! one of my closest friends here in Costa Rica was one of the three founders of that company then got fugged by his two partners and they stole everything from him and left him high and dry. They all moved here 15 plus years ago and cut my buddy out about 10 and left him with basically nothing. We became friends when I offered him a place to stay and he has since worked his way back up and created his own book, but I am not here to plug anything. Karma is a *****, I loath for the day that 5dimes goes belly up and its current ownership goes to jail!

I usually wait a couple of weeks before I start betting, although taking you at -26 was incredibly tempting as I think ya'll win 45-3. I change sites every year since my favorite (Sportsbook) really began to frown upon Americans. Thank you, DoJ.

I use bookmakers but I would go local if I could find someone (starkville). Bookmakers, 5dimes, and one other I can't remember heritage maybe? seem to be the most highly regraded. All of the sites will have good signup bonuses right now though.

But seriously find someone local if you can.

Totally disagree. Get numerous online books. Shop the line. Find value. Locals man's lines aren't true lines......very biased based on numerous factors including location, popular bets and knowledge of the bettor.

I've never had problems with payouts..... Just not enough of them. You are limited on frequency of payouts but no problems at all. Deposits are mostly available immediately when processed. I also like online because it makes you stay within your bankroll and takes away the curse of most players........ Double up to get back. Impossible to come out on top without money management.

Most gamblers need a good, long lesson in bankroll management.
