Though I did call and complain about my bill yesterday and got 20 bucks off for the next 6 months until I'm eligible for another promotion, so I'll tolerate it.

the guide we had was Time Warner's. Comcast was paying for it so instead of letting us keep it, they took it away and loaded the default guide that comes with Scientific Atlanta boxes.

I've done the same thing and haven't had any success. I threatened to cancel my service and switch to DirectTV and they totally called my bluff.

It should be national rep, as opposed to some local schmuck.

I also had price comparisons available that I spouted off and noted that I always paid my bill on time. And as a single guy, getting a discount was what needed to happen as it was "best for me and my family"

give me more HD channels and set their clock so it's not about 45 seconds ahead of real time, which causes every program I record to begin with the last 45 seconds of the previous program and cut off 45 seconds before the end (of course that's usually just credits anyway so it's not a huge deal, just a minor annoyance).

where if you fast forwarded through a commercial and hit play a little late, it automatically takes you back to the end of the commercial.

I miss that the most.

much higher than either satellite or cable. I've been signed up to get an e-mail when it's available in my neighborhood for over a year now. I'm not so patiently waiting. I know it's in the Jackson metro area because a girl at work had it for while while she rented a house for 6 months while she was between houses.

From what I can gather its fairly similar to all the other systems but whats unique to U-verse is their DVR allows you to record 4 shows at once compared to the 2 that everyone else allows. Also, if you get U-verse TV and U-verse cable internet you can use the same box for your modem/router/DVR, so your whole house is wireless with that one box. I think the price is fairly similar if not a little bit cheaper compared to everyone. I have Dish right now which I am pretty happy with and Comcast for Internet (no other choice for cable internet) but I will probably switch to U-verse when they run to my neighborhood so I can bundle TV and Internet.

Told them I wanted to cancel my premium channels except for HBO and Showtime and they gave me almost $30 off for the next six months. Just go inand pay your bill and threaten to drop some services and they will work with you..

I wondered what was happening. It always cuts offsome of the funniest parts of The Office and other sitcoms...

It annoys the hell out of me that you have to manually add a few minutes to each broadcast to make sure you get the whole show. Then when you add a few minutes you sometimes interfere with 2 shows you have recording at the next time slot.

What happened to that really good program guide/user interface that was going around a while back. It looked a lot better than even the one on that blog. Looked like something apple would create.

got a new one and I hate it. It's slower, it's harder to find things, and you can't even change by date. Plus my remote doesn't change the volume on the cable box anymore, so I have to use two remotes until I figure that out. Also, when you stop fast forwarding it jumps back like twenty seconds. Which should be fine once I get used to not stopping until I actually see the show is back on, not trying to anticipate it. Oh, and DVR doesn't show on channel 644 anymore. I used to go to that channel and whatever I was watching was still there, now it's just like up in the air somewhere, so I can't just go back there. So if I flip a few channels looking at games or something I can't just change back to the DVR playing. You have to go to the list, which isn't even highlighting what I was watching, then scroll trhough and find it. And the way it lists them sucks. Not a fan.
