Not the idiotic hypocrites __________who have been made to look like fools today.

Or the star struck fans who never see any wrong in our staff as well as those who who dislike CMS no matter how well the team does.

Here are the facts as I see them.

Our team has improved in many areas.

Defensive line is better.

Offensive line is world's better.

WR's are playing to their abilities.

Backs look great.

We are beating teams we are supposed to beat.

Those teams are currently 13-24 this season.

In 4 years we have yet to beat any team with a regular season winning record, with the exception of EKU who was (6-5).

We have not always won these games in the past and now we are. Good first step.

We needed to get to a bowl this year. Pretty much accomplished.

Vandy went to back-to-back 9 win seasons playing against down SEC teams and Franklin looked like a superstar coach.

I dont think we have to do that this year. I am great with the comeback from the terrible start and getting the 6 wins and hopefully a bowl win.

Next year is the opportunity to really build upon this and get to a much better bowl.

These SEC teams wont stay down forever (well Vandy might and Missouri has many issues).

Now that we have the advantage we really need to stay ahead.

Next year we need to beat the same down teams and pull off a win versus at least one good team.

That could lay the foundation of a continuous solid program which to me would look like this:

Great season: 9 wins
Good season: 8 wins
Average season: 7 wins
Disappointing season: 6 wins

With average being the vast majority followed by mostly good, then disappointing, then a couple of great season.

Some fans will demand more but the majority would be happy with this.

I think 2018 may be rough. Lots of talent on Offense leaving after '17. May have to rely on defense.

Develop and recruit, boys!

We'll be fine in '18. '19 is the year that would worry, but that's too far to project. In '18, we lose most of our top receivers, Boom, and several OL starters. The young talent on the OL should mean that we're OK there, and we should also be fine at RB. Losing the WR's is a problem. Richardson is already looking like an impact player for the future. We'll need Greenwood, our freshmen redshirts, Ross, and our '17 guys to be ready to step up.

If one of the QB's turn out to be very decent and we can maintain a solid oline we will be fine.

WR's are by far the largest pool of talent available.

Yes. Between Barker, Hoak, Clark, and Wood and possibly even the true freshman Williams, we should have someone capable to stepping up in '18. As much as I appreciate what Johnson is doing, Barker may still be the longterm answer.

Great post. CMS has begun to develop depth with 3-4 star players. That has never been done since Bear Bryant was coach. The biggest difference is Mark taking over the defense and the combination of Eddie Gran/Darrin Hinshaw on offense. Good recruiting and development will continue. The result will be more competitive football and more important be a player in the SEC.

Actually, you're the hypocrite who continually downplays Coach Stoops and our team's success and then tries to jump on the bandwagon when it's convenient.

You make posts like you're some authority football guru that has all the answers.

Your posts smell of arrogant, elitist, drivel similar to a HRC speech.

You don't get to decide what is a "great" "good" and "average" season. It's simply your condescending, arrogant opinion.

If UK can win their bowl game it would build strong momentum for next season. With around 18 starters back it should be a good season. However the schedule is more difficult.

Schedule is more difficult but this will be UK's most talented roster in a long time.

Did I see a tweet that only 11 starters are seniors on this years team?
Um no.. We have 11 SRs total.. Only Timmons, Toth, Miggins, Jojo, McClain, McWilson, and Harmon are in the 2 deep… excluding Fullbacks

True, I am excited about it. Just need to take care of business on the road. However I'm sure this board will talk all about that and more over the summer.

Credit Stoops. Season looked very bleak. He righted the ship and as BrianPoe said, they are beating teams they should now. Defense is better, but lacked a pass rush today IMO. That must improve.

They HAVE to stop with the turnovers. Amazing that they have a winning record with the turnovers they have. Ball security.....ball security.

I would really like to the TE more involved. UK has a potential All-SEC TE. Please use him.

Good win. Huge confidence booster. Johnson never looks flustered or bothered. I like that.

You simple minded children...

When a poster uses the terms...

"In my opinion"

Or

"As I see it"

That means it is just their opinion, doesn't make it a fact.

The only fact is that you simpletons obviously value my posts much more than you should.

I don't mind having haters especially ones that are proven to be so hypocritical.

Go back and read my posts, I was not happy at all with the team or coaches but I always said I would wait until the season was over and hoped CMS could turn it around.

Forgive me for not hailing us playoff worthy yet.

We have improved.

We still haven't beaten a P5 with a regular season winning record in years.

I commend coach and he deserves next year and I have said it previously many times.

Glad to see my opinion means so much to you guys.

No way he misses that throw so many times.

Once SJ gets that seam throw down it will really open up the edges.

Without developing a QB it doesn't matter too much. We need to get a coach in here who can recruit the right QBs and develop them consistently. We haven't done that in a while.

Where the h you think we'd be right now without Hinshaw finding SJ starting 6 weeks b4 signing day? You think SJ hasn't improved since NMS? (This should be good.)

All I know is when I watch this Football team, I see a team that is well coached and getting better each week. We are winning football games in the SEC. That is a mark of good coaching and talent starting to grow up. I think our best football is still ahead of us. It's time to sit back and enjoy the journey, because for us old farts around here, it's been a long long time since we have had a football team that has reeled off 3 straight SEC games, and looking to possibly make it 4 with a win over Georgia.

We can try and discredit who we have beaten and their records. All I know is we have beaten the teams in front of us and the are still SEC football teams.

Agree with all this. The defense has clearly gotten better with Stoops running it. There is now no question about that. Up until today's game you couldn't be sure because we were shutting down teams that pretty much suck. Missouri however can be really good on offense. I'm impressed with the defense for the first time with today's effort. You can take exception to the defense's performance against Vandy but not today.

The main thing I am seeing on defense is the mistakes have stopped totally. No longer are we blowing coverages. No longer is the contain guy crashing down on zone reads every single play. What you are seeing has to be an illustration of how destructive a bad coordinator can be. There's no other explanation for it. Same defenders they just aren't in the wrong spot or bailing out on fakes as they did the past 3 years. I don't know what Stoops plans to do long term about the defense but he should remain the DC. He should essentially be the opposite of Mike Leach. He needs to be the head coach that is really the DC. If Eliot is to be replaced then he should be replaced with a former head coach who can run special teams and assist with game situations.

The improvement of the OL is nothing short of incredible. They've gone from the worst OL in the SEC to probably the 2nd or 3rd best in the past month. A lot of that has been the performance of Benny Snell which has simplified what they need to be good at. Still the individual improvement is night and day. I'm not sure if this changes our offense and makes us start recruiting read option style QBs now. The line seems to be really adapting to it which might be difficult to ever go back to the drop back style QB.

I agree. The bottomline is Stoops should be in charge of the defense and leave Gran and Henshaw completely alone on offense. I don't think it's a coincidence that UK is 5-1 since that happened.

1-3 won't close out the season. We'll still go to a bowl, and a bowl win would be a nice way to end it. Even if we don't, we still have the bowl game as a sort of a token to hang our hats on until next year.

I think 2018 may be rough. Lots of talent on Offense leaving after '17. May have to rely on defense.

Develop and recruit, boys!
I posted our predicted Offense in 2018 in another thread earlier this week - it's still pretty darn good.

RB: Snell/Rose/Koback/2018 signees
WR:Tavin Richardson, Kayuane Ross, Javonte Richardson, Clevan Thomas, (Danny Davis?)
TE: Conrad/2016 Signee name escapes me/2017 and 2018 signees
OL: Landon Young, Stenberg, Drake Jackson, Leavitt, GAA (backups: Wolfe, Fortner, Dotson and whoever we sign 2017/2018).

QB: Barker/Hoak/D Clark/J Williams

That's not a bad offense.

"We are beating teams we are supposed to beat"

Mizzou was a 5+ point favorite all week. #UnLevelHeaded
Nobody judges that by vegas point spreads. Otherwise Joker would have been a success here since he was only favored 2 games per year. There are 3 teams on each schedule that we have to beat. You can lose 1 every 4 or 5 years but you can't do worse than that. Also there are 5 teams on our schedule that should be 50/50 teams. To be successful you have to win at least 50% of those. Right now we aren't even close to that. Probably not even winning 30%. In other words Missouri is on the list of teams we should beat especially this year. They aren't good right now.

This year we are 4 out of 5 against 50/50 teams. Southern Mississippi shouldn't have been that, but they were; so be it. But we're winning every other swing game.
