This is awful
So are they being criticized for helping the archdiocese with crisis PR? If they didn't shield any priests or church leaders or advise the diocese to lie about anything or cover anything up, them helping after the fact doesn't seem like a big deal? It looks as if they are trying to imply without saying that the Saints could have had something to do with which priests were put on or left off the list (which hopefully would be lawyers and investigators jointly making that call, as there is significant harm caused by errors going either way), but assuming they didn't, is it really surprising that a catholic diocese would turn to catholics for help managing a nightmare like that?

I think the saints front office is being criticized for helping pedophilia by religious leaders sound less bad.

And I guess I am unclear on the details of how they supposedly did that. PR doesn't mean lying. Except for the article implying that they might have had something to do with which priests were publicly named by the diocese as accused pedophiles (with no proof that I can tell), it doesn't seem to implicate them in anything nefarious. Definitely some embarrassing relevations for some local papers.

But I don't remember anything about the scandal, so maybe there's some local knowledge I'm missing. Was the archbishop that published the list actually part of the coverup? This article makes it sound like he was the one that came in to clean it up but doesn't really specify that he wasn't there for any of the coverup.

My sense is the saints helped craft messaging (again, concerning child molestation perpetrated by leaders in the archdiocese), not a cover-up.
