It was pretty innocuous. I bet the hammer and sickle was just a tad too upfront which meant it was…

Another video with better optics likely would have passed muster.

Now the wait for all the outrage as the pendulum potentially swings way too far left. As if physics has somehow changed and you can just pull it that far right without it eventually swinging the other way…

Yeah, I'd really love to see us get away from acting like our favorite team won or lost. Increasingly, I suspect most of the real issues we face are less political and more cultural.
Not going to happen in this media environment. It’s all about the team and no nuance.

If the Democrats walk down the petulant child retribution trail to match Trump they will be punished. If they actually try to behave like adults and legislate maybe we get some stability or normal political bickering.

I hope I'm wrong but I don't see a Bill Clinton out there anywhere in the democratic lineup. It seems like those days are gone. But hey maybe so I guess.

The Repubs went too far right (maga) and got "corrected".......now the Dems will go too far left (socialism) and eventually reap what they sow also. The first party to realize governing somewhere near the "middle" is the way to go will be in office an extended period . Oh well wash, rinse, repeat

Not much is going to happen right now. You have democrats controlling the legislature with a Republican president. It’s going to be deadlock essentially. The senate flipping is the bigger deal for whoever is president in 28.

A silver-lining out of the D's sweep is that it gives the party leadership some breathing room in dealing with the socialist wing of the party. If the House had been only a few seat majority for the Dems, then you've got to compromise. Now, they've got a comfortable majority to the point they can sideline them.

Genuinely curious - what qualities/political positions are you wanting in that person?

if it makes the two sides work together and brings the Republican Party back to some semblance of practicing honest to god conservatism without the culture wars? Yes.

so in short the answer is likely a resounding no.

the democrats will take this as a mandate and overplay their hand. They won’t remember what happened 2 years ago. The “conservative” media will paint the democrats as evil boogeymen (especially the new senator from Michigan) and get the other side so fired up that it stays a war between teams. And in a few years they will change sides and we will do this again and again as we continue to rearrange deck chairs on the titanic.

I’m just tired of Americans hating each other because of what hat they wear.

unless it’s an ole Miss hat. 17 those guys.

For me, someone who is smart enough to keep the country "between the ditches" and legislate from both the center left and the center right when common sense calls for it . I know this is a reach but since you asked LOL .

What sort of evil magic are you working with? You just laid out exactly what will happen for the next couple years!

The good news is that the left is very familiar with swinging the other way. Then again, looking at Lindsey Graham, the right is fairly practiced at it as well.
