Please take note that we had two booth reviews go our way today, even though Andre Ware was screaming they should go the other way. We also got a "running into the kicker" call that easily could have been roughing and kept USC's drive alive. Seems like the kept giving USC pretty favorable spots after all the rolling around at the end of plays, but I think y'all need to put this game in your little black books as one where State got the breaks.

Ballard to the ground after the whistle and after the defender stopped his forward momentum. That should have been an unnecessary roughness. Other than that, I thought it was a fair game.

the ball definitely hit the ground and bobbled just slightly. The running into the kicker definitely could have gone either way, I think we got the break because he was pulling up and his back was arched back trying to stop himself. As for the Bumphis interception turned over to incomplete, there were only two possible outcomes for that to me. It either hit the ground and bobbled (which was not shown on tv), or because he seemed to have possession with his legs, the ball never bobbled until it came out when he was on his back after rolling over, the pass may have been a complete pass and then he was down before having the ball knocked out.

Nothing says a player must have possession with his hands, only that he has to have control of the ball. I think the refs made the correct call, but it was interesting and was close if you ask me.

Found a Video of Tommy Streeter's catch. His catch is a little different because he pulls it in afterwards so it is not clear if possession was called then or while it was between his legs and not moving.
