Choose Parrains Seafood for lunch or dinner or would it be Phil’s Oyster Bar for lunch or dinner or is there somewhere else close to the LSU campus that’s better ?
Don’t come at me with Acme - although
it’s - ok.

Chimes good for lunch. Parrains good for dinner. But my favorite for dinner is still Mike Andersons.
@DAWGSANDSAINTS - The Joliet Rouge or The Guitreau meals at Mike Anderson’s are both outstanding. I’m also a huge fan of Louisiana Lagniappe. It’s pricier than Mike Anderson’s and harder to get in the door. The Fresh Fish en Papillote and the Ponchartrain are my favorite options there. I rank Louisiana Lagniappe slightly ahead but it’s close. But I usually end up at Mike Anderson’s more often because of convenience and cost.

Chimes has it all and does it fairly well. Covington too if you're ever across the river in the toes of the boot.
The one in Covington is great. Nice little spot on the back looking at the Tchefuncte. Love their seafood pasta. Club is pretty good for lunch

Parrains is still one of my favorite Louisiana style food places to this day from the first time I had it about 12 years ago. I try to stop there if I'm in Baton Rouge for the day.

SoLou on Perkins is great - boudin queso + shrimp and grits
Chimes is always a safe choice - Everything is good, nothing is particularly spectacular
Parrain's > Phil's for chargrilled oysters (Southern Pearl is better than both, but i'm not certain they serve them before dinner)
Elsie's Plate and Pie - the crawfish hand pie is delicious

If you're just looking for good restaurants here's a few I'd recommend over any of the above:

Chow Yum Phat
The Overpass Merchant
BLDG 5
Elsie's Plate & Pie
Rocco's (Po-Boys)

Colonel’s Club for dinner. Chimes in pretty pedestrian but good for lunch. Sullivan’s is just ok. I’d go to Ruth’s Chris before I went there. Mike Andersons is good but I feel like they use way too much Worcestershire in a lot of their dishes. Solera is good for Tapas food. Tsunami downtown for Asian and good views of the river.

BRQ for lunch. French Market Bistro for dinner: best chargrilled oysters around
