as a reference for defending our coach and basketball program, just remember that Ole Miss is still living in the past and saying that same prayer. Step into the 21st century and join the rest of us in reality.

That loss last night isn't the end of the world by anymeans. We have a great, great team with a fairly deep bench and plenty of weapons and we're going to be just fine.

Most of us complaining are complaining because we're tired of losing games like that. Stansbury got outcoached and there's not much you cansay to defend it. Happy New Year.

There are plenty of things that are great about this team. We are physical, play solid defense, and have a nice bench. We really aren't weak at any position at all. All of these things are credited to Stansbury. Plus, he's good at dictating the general tone of the game, keeping the scores low, and putting us in a position to win - even against potent offenses and teams with great athletes (like Baylor).

What pissed me off about last night was that I was reminded that no matter how many things we have going for us, all of that is going to be cancelled out in a tight game. We simply freeze up and look clueless when it's tight and the minutes are running down. For all the nice things I can say about Stans, he really 17s it up by being a third tier coach, at best, when games turn into chess matches. Credit goes to Stansbury for getting is in position to win with 5 minutes to go. The problem is that if we replay that game 10 times from the 5 minute mark, we are going to lose 7 of those.

I was getting pretty pumped up about the remainder of the season, and I'm still slightly optimistic, but last night was a nice reminder for me not to get too invested in a Rick Stansbury coached basketball team. That game didn't make or break our season, but we will play that game again when it's the one we need to slide into the tournament or, if we are lucky, FINALLY make a run in the tournament.

they also have a decent do-all in Acy. Just ask Bost how many shoulders he got to the jaw on the high ball screen Acy would set. Bost wised up to it later in the game and you can even see Acy lead with it and almost fall over when Bost side stepped him late in the game. Acy has a lot of athleticism but doesn't fly on the radar as a "dirty" player. There were several calls that he got because he "sold" them very well, this is not dirty play but the name of the game. Just go back and watch him the whole game and you will see what I'm talking about.<div>
</div><div>I don't think the refs even knew what a moving screen was, and that it was being executed nearly every play at the top of the key by Baylor. Bost was called for a foul twice, I believe, for fighting over the top of moving screens. It is the job of the ball handler to move their defender into the screen not the screener to cut off the defender.

We had success in the late 50's/early 60's and since the early 90's which aligns itself with the entry of Stansbury into our program.

Todd Merritt and the guys responsible for our SEC title in 1991. Now he does recruit well, and helped for the 95, 96 teams- but lets dont act like he got it started- Richard Williams did.

We finished tied with LSU for the SECOND best record in the league. If Kentucky hadn't been on probation, they would have been the SEC champions. Also, we lost to huge underdogs in the 1st round of both the SEC and NCAA tournaments. If the postseason is all that counts, 1991 was a miserable failure.
