there were many of nights and weekends when State wasn't on TV - which was a lot - where you sat around listening to him call football or basketball.

And for those that listened to WQBC - 1420 in Vicksburg - I forever remember Foam Packaging as a sponsor of MSU sports broadcasts.

She was a HUGE State fan and would always get upset over "the calling". She would say "Even Jack was saying that they were fouling, and Jack don't never lie!"

I'm guessing that there are a whole lot of us that are reminded of good times spent with their Dad.

And, like you, we were listening to WQBC.

putting up deer stands, clearing trees and having the radio on listening to the game. I will truley miss the man calling games and hopefully whoever replaces him will be half as good as Jack was.

Oh yeah, as a kid I always thought Farm Bureau was our only sponsor. Seemed like every commercial was Farm bureau.

...I haven't talked to him for 2 weeks and won't for another 2. I don't know how I'm going to break it to him that he'll never listen to Jack again. It's going to feel one step removed from there being a death in the family to him.

I recorded Jack's call for the 2007 Liberty Bowl, and I'm listening to it now. Turned out better than I expected, first time I've listened to it.

Think I need a little Jack Cristil therapy.
