I think it would be kinda cool if Sunday’s game was for all the marbles . A win and in scenario would be the most meaningful game at the RAC in years !!
Supposedly less than 1% chance of that. I think it would create too much anxiety. Boo birds would be ready to explode when Minnesota coach out foxes Pike.

USC info is incorrect. We miss out with USC losing to UCLA if:

Northwestern wins at Maryland
Minnesota beats RU
Iowa beats Michigan State and loses to Nebraska

This sets up a three way tie at 7-13 with USC and Iowa. We lose the tiebreaker according to the mred site.

Root for MSU to win tonight and we are in.

I hope that is sarcasm!!
Make this team actually earn something. This hemming and hawing over being the worst team in the big ten tournament is pathetic considering the expectations before the year. Frankly, I couldn't care less if we make it or not. This team and coach is a failure and a joke regardless

Yeah, I kinda agree, would like to see them have to play for the season to move on.

No - I actually think the chance is zero except possibly the last half hour of the game.

There are 6 teams competing to fill 5 spots (11-15). 4 of those team (including RU play at the same time) and Rutgers owns the tie breaker over the two teams who don’t. Rutgers also owns the tie breaker over Nebraska so mathematically, at this point, the only way Rutgers could get left out over Nebraska would be if Nebraska wins their final game and Rutgers loses. The Nebraska game starts a half hour before ours…

If you haven't seen this yet, this website is fun. You click on the winners of the remaining Big 10 games, then it tells you the seedings. Can do scenarios for any conference.

As mentioned above, seems the only doomsday scenario is Iowa beats MSU, Iowa loses to Nebraska, and of course RU loses to Minny.

Ha! On an unrelated note, check out the tournament format for the Sun Belt with this website. Either they can only play two games a day or they really want a top seed to win the tournament. The top two seeds get quintuple byes!

I believe if I am doing it correctly Iowa would have to beat Michigan State, lose to Nebraska AND Northwestern would have to beat Maryland

Yes, nothing says "pride" like rooting to miss a tournament.
And exactly who's doing that by asking a team to win a game at home against a team of equal ranking? That's rooting to win and get in. Serious miss and leap here by you bud.

Okay, fair enough. It's still weird to root for unfavorable scenarios though.

It is not that I do not believe - is this actually true, that Iowa losing to MSU locks RU into the Big 10 tourney? I have not done the math.

I think because Iowa/Nebby meet up and if Iowa loses they are 6-14. If Iowa wins there is a big logjam with NW and USC who aren't winning and it appears RU has wins over everyone

Someone posted the scenario somewhere here it won't matter what usc and nw do

Yes you are correct. I didn't realize that I had the setting on Northwestern beating Maryland

Why do you even care what they do or dont do? This team and coach has given us literally nothing this year other than being quite literally the biggest embarrassment in the nation and a huge black mark on the program?

All I know is we need to beat Minnesota and win our first tourney game to be guaranteed a .500 % season.

And MSU goes on a huge run when down 11 in the 2nd half to win going away.

Iowa loses. RU is in the Big 10 tourney.

If RU beats Minnesota RU is the 11 seed. Even if RU loses to Minnesota they could be the 12 seed if NW, usc and Iowa all lose their last games.

Rutgers fans who work during the day are hoping for the No. 11 seed.

  • Game 1: No. 12 seed vs. No. 13 seed at 3:30 PM
  • Game 2: No. 10 seed vs. No. 15 seed at 6 PM
  • Game 3: No. 11 seed vs. No. 14 seed at 8:30 PM
