Id love to see if GLFR could go 2 to 1 regular non political posts to political posts for 40 days. And just remember: We're not very social here, and outside of GLFR, we hate the media!
A dab of caviar on Ruffles is a nice little biteI prefer to abstain from 'luxuries' like escargot, squid, caviar, birds nest soup, Foie Gras, etc. **
Well you see, in 325AD the Council of Nicea met...When I converted to Catholicism lent was one of the things I didn’t understand as to why it wasn’t practiced in the Protestant churches more.

Southern baptist to Presbyterian to Catholic to agnostic.I grew up a Methodist and we observed lent.
Also, slight hijack, but didn't you say in the Freeze thread that you're now Agnostic. So, was your journey Protestant to Catholic to Indifferent? You don't have to answer, I was just curious.

This pretty much sums me up:
Soda & Social Media are two things I've given up for Lent and ended up never going back.
I don't consider the pack social media, but group therapy for state fansExcept for 6 Pack evidently:
Social Media- social platforms built on community interaction with user generated content and interactivity.
In before the lock because it looks like its getting too religious....................
This is where I go Jon Stewart.3. Faith is a gift, not a puzzle
The Apostle Paul, in Ephesians, says explicitly that faith is a gift. Pretty solid source. If it’s a 17ing gift, what benevolent, loving person plays a twisted Dirty Santa, going: “you shall have peace and purpose; but as for you, you shall flounder in misery and confusion with no direction”. That’s Calvinist talk.
Reason works in concert with faith, but faith may not be as many define it (ignorant blind faith). Faith and reason is not not either/or it is "both and".This is where I go Jon Stewart.

The puzzle comment:
The scriptures tell us to gain knowledge and evidence, then reason on it from a faith based standpoint. The whole book of Hebrews is a lesson in law, reason, and meaning. The moment someone says I have to turn my brain off and embrace cognitive dissonance, you lost me.
I'm abstaining from calling you a libtard**anybody abstaining from any interesting luxuries? I've done social media in the past and likely will again; in fact, that may be the case even once Easter arrives.
