Bottom of the 9th, 2 outs, down 3, and Glaus hits a 2 run homer followed by a Heyward homer. Then McLouth comes up in the 10th and wins it with a walkoff. This team has a lot of fight, and I think if we can keep doing this, we have a good shot to win the East. Now in a 3 way tie with the Phillies and Marlins at the top of the East.

He hits a walk-off bomb, and the entire team sprints into the clubhouse. McClouth crosses the plate with nobody there.

They gave Chipper the silent treatment on a homer the other day. This team is having fun.

I really am starting to believe the Pujols comparisons. He's an incredibly patient, knowledgeable hitter, especially for a guy who's only 20. Nice to see Glaus redeem himself after screwing up on D in the top of the 4th, then being a total rally killer in the bottom of the 4th. He's being paid to hit homers, so I guess I shouldn't complain too much. Part of having him on your team is knowing he's going to hit .250.

I cracked up at the silent treatment for McLouth. Hadn't seen a team do that before. As clintstone said, this team is definitely having fun.

Heyward seems to have brought some youthful energy to some of the guys, and they seem to be enjoying baseball for the 1st time in 4 years. I love the makeup of this team, and if they keep up the joking and stuff like that, I think it's gonna relieve a lot of the tension some of the older guys have felt to get back to the playoffs. And I said 5 days ago to a friend of mine that I'm calling it for Heyward to finish in the Top 5 in the MVP category. That's unheard of for a rookie, but his HR's and RBI's are at the in the top 5 in the NL, and his average is very respectable.

The end of that game was unbelicvable. J-Hey is a a beast and the home run trio should definitely be on the Sportcenter Top 10 or at least the walk off.

fun to watch. They are playing pretty good baseball but you can tell that with the presence of jhey, they seem to being joking around alot and having fun. I think that is key for the Braves in making the postseason. I sure hope this is a sign that McClouth and Glaus are about to start hitting.

He's going to hit .250. .265 would be a GREAT season in terms of average for Glaus. He's being paid to hit bombs. A minimum of 20, preferably 25. If he does that, we got our 1-year rent-a-player money out of him.

As for Nate, I think a lot of his issue is that he has the f'n pitcher as his "protection." He's protecting J-Hey, but no one is protecting him. Thing is, unless you want to put him back at leadoff, I don't really see where else in the lineup he'd hit right now. Prado Chipper, & Mac have 2-4 locked up. Esco is a perfect fit for the 6 hole. The only move I could see us justifying is flipping J-Hey & Glaus at 5 & 7. Nate is plenty capable of hitting 5 and flipping with Glaus, but we aren't paying Glaus to hit bombs from the 8 hole. Bottom line is that Nate is just a victim of circumstance for now. But who knows, we may put him back at leadoff. I HATE Diaz in that spot. Talk about an awful fit. I don't think the 1 hole will be solidified until Schafer's wrist heals and he proves he's ready to come back. An everyday OF of Heyward, Schafer, and McLouth would be freaking awesome coming down the stretch.

Sorry Spdawg, I just dont agree with the shafer thing. Sure he may eventually be a good player but I highly doubt that he is expected to do anything this year. Melky has got to start hitting and Nate has to keep working to get out of his slump. Nate maybe victim to batting 8th but he has had his fair chance at the 1 spot. I personally love Diaz. He's a gritty player who usually makes good contact and always ends up over .300 ba.As i said before day one the lineup should be like this

1)Nate
2)prado
3)Chipper
4)Bmac
5)Glaus (gonna have to deal with some dp's and k's but his hr's will come)
6)jhey
7)escobar
8)Diaz/Melky

I think that right now Diaz is a better option than Melky bc he seems to be swinging a better bat but i do believe that he is better suited down in the lineup than at the 1 spot.

...something along the lines of "I heard we've never had a walk-off HR at home." Did anybody else see that? Is that true?

http://bleacherreport.com...yunel-escobar-at-the-top<div>
</div><div>The time has come for Yunel Escobar to bat leadoff. Yes, he's an RBI producer, but with Heyward's production, the leadoff spot is more important than the 6 hole right now. Escobar to the top, Heyward to 6, and Diaz/Melky/McLouth splitting 7-8. If one of them gets hotter than Prado, they could easily switch with him and bat 2nd or claim the leadoff spot and move Escobar back down.</div><div>
</div><div>Chipper was quoted as saying that he's grooming Heyward to hit 3rd in the order. With that in mind, we might even see Heyward batting 2nd soon enough.</div>

Watching J Howard at the Trustmark Park last year was great. I kept thinking, "why is he here and not in Atlanta?" Fun to watch the Mississippi Braves, then follow them to the big dance.
